My review was originally one star. I have since upgraded it to four. Depending on the outcome of events, it may be further upgraded. *Jim, the owner of shooters outpost took the extraordinary measure of calling me on my cell phone. We had an interesting conversation. I think the reply he posted here was in anger and I can forgive him for that since this was what he perceived as an attack on his livelihood, business that he and his family worked very hard to establish and maintain. I have worked in Law Enforcement for many years and we will discuss this issue in his response should I get to speak with him in the future and provide documentation to this fact for his edification if need be. I do not think he is motivated so much by the concept of protecting his brand as I do the fact that he has the burden of feeding his family, employing tens of people and meeting payroll to help his employees earn a living and provide the public with a quality place to acquire firearms and related items at reasonable costs. I do respect him for reaching out to me and trying to discuss the matter. I still differ with him in the fact that this policy was not brought to my attention at the point of sale. I hopefully will meet with him at some time in the future to discuss this issue as he had alluded. Jim went to great lengths to to explain his business policy and why it is the way it is. Like aviation safety or Maritime safety, firearms business retail policy is written in blood and he drove that point home very well. He is also in a heavily - federally regulated business and I see his concerns in this politically charged season. Again I wish to thank him for his effort to reach out to me. It remains to be seen, if I will be a repeat customer. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Jim the the staff at...
Read moreI recently found Shooters in Amherst and was pleasantly surprised. I was looking for a difficult to find handgun and discussed the topic with the people at Shooters. To my surprise, they were actually able to help me get the handgun at a reasonable price. I was surprised because other shops were selling the same firearm on an auction site for significantly more. Shooters had a different approach - they want to help their customers. In addition to being really helpful, the prices are great, and the store is clean/not cluttered.
I’ve also been to the Hookset location to purchase reloading supplies. The store is huge and the selection / prices were great. They even have a significant selection of reloading equipment. Most shops just don’t have the space to stock this type of equipment and quantity of supplies. It’s really nice to just be able to get supplies and not paying the crazy shipping fee add ons required during an online purchase.
The experiences from both stores was really pleasant and I will...
Read moreI have been a customer of the Hooksett location for some time now but recently have been visiting the Amherst store. During my most recent pistol purchase I seen first hand how incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, & patient the staff is. We are all effected by the influx of new gun owners and the shortage of available ammunition. It is difficult and frustrating for us, the consumer so I can only image how the owner has struggled to get supplies on the shelves at not one but two locations. While waiting for my background check to be processed I observed a gentleman (a nice way of putting it) yelling at one of the employees because they didn’t have any of the calibers he was searching for. This guy was down right rude and out of line. I was truly amazed as the employee was respectful, civil, and completely professional. I’m sure it wasn’t the first time and probably won’t be the last so kudos to the staff. So if your in the market for your first or your fifth i would highly recommend...
