Taco Bell / KFC — Restaurant in Amherst

I've been waiting now 20 minutes... I knew that this place has always been historically and epically slow. But at this point, I've finished off everything new on the internet, and wanted to begin to document my torments in this kfc/taco Bell purgatory. Fortunately or not, as I type this out painstakingly on my phone, I realize that I have all the time in the world before my order is finished. Nevermind the fact that all components of my order, the chicken tenders, the potato wedges, and biscuits, are all clearly visible in my line of sight. Today, I chose to go to the restaurant portion rather than the drive through. Previous attempts at the drive through left me wishing, praying that it was more than a single lane with no escape. You had no choice but to order after missing your newborn child's wedding day while in the queue. Trapped. The restaurant area is generally nice by fast food standards. However the patrons all have senses of forelorn disappointment, as most of them are waiting for food. 35 minutes in. The great Charlie debacle has played itself out, as two patrons with the name Charlie almost came to blows after fighting over their names being called 15 minutes ago, both parties having waited an eternity for their food. The second Charlie just left with his bounty in a huff... He had ordered over half an hour ago. While the orders are being taken within the store, the count ever increasing.

Ohh, 40 minutes in, my order is ready.

Edited to add: Got my order home, they forgot...

UPDATE 4: Absolutely do not use drive through. The people working there can not get an order right to save their lives. You can count on missing items or literally getting the wrong meal.

UPDATE 3: I ended up trying one more time due to being in the area and wanting something quick to eat. I have to say the food was very good and fresh! I’d have rated it higher but there was no Mt Dew and still took some time even with nobody in the dining area. In all fairness, the drive through was packed which probably affected the wait but still seemed long. Overall I’d go back, but not at any normal busy eating time. Glad to have my favorite fast food back!

UPDATE 2: Thought I’d try again and still horrible. 30+ minutes wait for chicken sandwich and bean burrito. STAY AWAY. THEY ARE SLOWER THAN A SNAIL RACING A TURTLE.

UPDATE. The place has been remodeled and it’s still not worth it. Pretty sad when you install a new soda machine and it doesn’t work. Too bad. Used to love Taco Bell.

Over the past 6 months the food simply keeps getting worse. I have enjoyed KFC and Taco Bell for many years but this one has become one of the worst. The tacos Iwere so wet the shell just becomes mush. The idea of adding red sauce means either none or soaked. The chicken was so dried out you couldn’t chew it. I think the Bruins could have used the biscuit as a hockey puck in their next game. Simply put avoid until they hire a new manager...

Update: 2024-2025, hit or miss on window wait times... And a 50/50 chance something you ordered is missing or completely wrong. The lady at the window was friendly, asked me to pull around and wait a few minutes for my order. Wait time was less than 5 minutes but got home and my entire order of 3 items was completely wrong (2 cheesy fiesta potato tacos & 1 nacho fry, not sure what the 3 mystery meat tacos are that were in my bag... honestly not interested in finding out but man, not remotely close to what was ordered and not sure what the wait was for since they look like regular beef cheese tacos) super disappointed after they aced it when I was there last month. PS. Their online ordering is never available and it's super frustrating when you're at work and just want to swing by to pickup at lunch time😕 big bumma.

Original: It's been ages since eating at Taco Bell but I was craving some of their cheese quesadilla and bean tacos. Food was good and staff was nice, my only qualms are that they were extremely slow for a "fast food" restaurant (2 cars in front of me from ordering to the window was about 15-20 minutes) they were also out of chicken, lettuce & hot sauce.

Word of advice- order online for in store pickup not drive through, also do not be surprised if you have to wait for that as well, but the food is good and hot...
