I was in the mood for a steak and I dont know why I chose to go to Longhorn. The wait was short and the staff friendly which was appreciated. However, the waiter pretty much ignored us....he was quick to get or orders in and to everyone credit they were correct. But we never really saw him to address any issues or request anything like sauce or dressing etc. Once he dropped the food he was gone. After observing him for a bit my buddy and I quickly realized a difference in service quality. We dont have breasts. If you had a chest and were of the female variety our waiter was quite attentive. Now for the food. My steak (Longhorn) was not cooked evenly and had enough salt on it that the dead seas scrolls would have been jealous. It is advertised as a "thick" tender cut of meat. It wasnt either of these things. I my estimation it was a lowere quality of meat than what can be had at Walmart for twice the price. Tried to eat it but, it was hard to even swallow let alone the amount of fluid needed due to the salt. I would have addressed the issue with the waiter but again....we lack breasts. Subsequently, just said to heck with it and boxed our food. We can likely either save our meals when we get home or perhaps give them to the dog. I now remember why I...
Read moreI've had wildly varying experiences at this Longhorn. Often times I visit this restaurant due to its convenient location relative to my house, but by the time I'm paying, I feel a bit regretful.
One particularly bad visit involved an order of steak tips which I asked to be served without mushrooms. The plate came out with mushrooms well mixed in. I cut into one of the tips to check how well done it was and found it to be correctly cooked to my order. I pointed out the mushrooms to my waitress and she apologized and took it back. Upon receiving my replacement plate, I find that they didn't replace it at all. They literally took my food out back and picked the mushrooms out. They then placed it on the warming tray long enough to overcook the meat. I know it was the same plate because of the piece I cut into which was easily identifiable.
The waitress didn't seem to understand what the problem was when I pointed out my concern. Eventually I received a correctly made meal and it was pretty good.
The manager did come by to ask about the experience and ended up removing it from the bill, but it was something that I wouldn't expect a competent restaurant to ever have happen. The mushrooms I understand, the following events......
Read moreThis place has gone downhill. The past few times we have been to Longhorn, the service has been incredibly slow and the food quality had been awful.
We just went there for lunch , took over an hour to get our food and the restaurant was borderline empty. The steak my wife ordered was undercooked. They offered to throw it back on, but the problem with that is it dries out the steak tremendously. Considering it took forever to get , a remake was out if the question. So my wife didn't even eat the steak, yet they still charged me for it. Last steak I ever buy there. The maverick sandwich was a truly impossible eat. First off , overcooked and the cut of meat was terrible. I didn't have the jaw strength to bite thought the bread and the steak, so the whole piece of meat just flops out of the sandwich. The steak itself was unappealingly Grey and too over salted. They should probably shift that sandwich to shaved steak, as the whole 1/4 inch thick chewy steak wasn't enjoyable. Atleast the Mac and cheese for my kid came out cold , so she couldn't complain it was too hot.
This was my last time going to Longhorn. So disappointing, I'd give it zero stars, but it's not an option. 70 bucks for lunch is an...
