Erin's Diary room listed up to 7/8 players but barely enough puzzle for two
we were railroaded into one puzzle at a time, every puzzle unlocked one goal/key so despite being listed for up to 7, one one or two people could work on each actual puzzle at a time, breaks a big escape room rule for me of always starting with at least two puzzles to stop from stumbling right off the start
then the quality of those puzzles (durability, volume levels, finnicky rfids) was very low
very quiet speakers constantly listing out lore forcing you to wait 2 mins at a time for the next easy key/puzzle to open up
puzzle elements were regularly finnicky or required repeated actions to activate a magic effect. seems like some tags/magnets were in need of replacement or the puzzles needed to be modified to not require hints given by the game-master, "yes you're doing it right but do it slightly differently"
the puzzle sequence may have been enjoyable for younger kids or particularly astute persons who are interested in magic and spells and mystery spells and extremely lite faerie tale horror-
HOWEVER
there is an extended actively timed sequence puzzle that requires some tight coordination in the middle, an extensive binary search puzzle at the end that makes sense.. after you already see the solution and come up with the reasoning after, and a particularly high up speaker which connects at one point by small wires and whispers some nonsense words at you
all puzzle elements that would probably be frustrating for the aforementioned
it felt like they made a diary at one point and then would briefly show it on a screen and speak it very quietly
the escape room might be improved for kids and magic lovers if they gave them a hardcopy of the diary pages to keep track of the steps as it went along as it was impossible for my group to keep track of what our goals were per room and everything felt...
Read more11/5/25. Here’s the thing — I really don’t like leaving negative reviews, especially for escape rooms since I know how much effort goes into creating them. The Edeline room itself was actually pretty solid — nice story, linear-style puzzles, cool concept, and it had the potential to be a really fun experience.
Unfortunately, our game master/new owner (David) made it hard to fully enjoy if we’re being honest. The tone felt off right from the start — even during the intro, it came across like he didn’t trust us to handle the props, warning us in a way as if we were about to go swinging the hammer around. Once the game started, that same sarcastic energy carried throughout.
The main thing is, hints were given in a tone that sounded irritated and condescending, which completely broke immersion — and my whole group noticed it. We were also interrupted often with things like “close that drawer,” “don’t touch that,” or other corrections that came across more like scolding than guidance. For context, we weren’t being rough or mishandling anything — just interacting normally with the room. It made the experience feel tense instead of fun.
We’re a group of adults in our mid-20s and a 14-year-old, so it just felt unnecessary — we came to have fun, not to feel reprimanded. I think with a different GM or a bit more warmth in communication, this could’ve been a fantastic...
Read moreIt was a really good escape room. I’ve been to my fair share of escape rooms but I have never been to one like the rooms that they have here. Each room has its own storyline and characters that you learn more about as you progress through the escape room. This room is also unique for the way that only one puzzle can be solved at a time. This really helps with the teamwork aspect of escape rooms. But, going with large amounts of people, aren’t ideal for this kind of puzzle solving, as some people might just be sitting there with not much to do. I went to the Edeline room, because it was recommended as a less scary room. I did it with my mom, dad, and younger sister. Me and my sister were spooked for some of it, especially the jump-scares and some loud sounds. But the loud sounds really added to the experience of the room. Overall, the room had a really good storyline, so much so, that I want to turn it into its own novel. It genuinely felt like you were living the life of the main character of the room (name of which I will not spoil). It was almost like you were in a movie or a simulation. It was really fun and I do want to try the...
