This place has decent food, but they lack in managing great service. You have one female running around doing everything and the guy occasionally bringing out a dish but he lacks customer service skills. They need to have a host at the door managing a wait-list. People walk up and are confused and just want to take a seat while others are waiting. They have a to go kiosk but people don't read and think they order there and then sit. There was a lady that did that and was confused on when she would be seated. They should add more tables outside too and have people pay their bill before food is ordered, as the current system I'm sure people are ordering and leaving due to ordering on their phone and it not requiring payment first. Plus, they have been so busy due to Tik Tok video, they are running out of items. The food comes out one at a time and we've been here over 40 minutes and still waiting for one of our items to come out. We ordered Steam Shrimp Dumpling, Beef Rice Noodle, Beef & Wonton Noodle Soup, Roe Mush Shrimp Shiu Mai, and Steam Shanghai Pork Dumpling. The shiu mai was flavorful but a little over cooked. Hubby loved the beef and wonton noodle soup. Beef was very tender, but the bok choy was one large piece which should have been cut. Pork dumpling and shrimp dumplings were delicious and juicy. I think they need another person at the door to provide guest service, manage wait-list, and someone to bus tables. The place is very small and should have a busser, as they even ran out of clean large plates and people can't be seated due to dirty tables. We also had to ask for cups as they gave us a pitcher of water with no cups. Utensils are plastic and cups are paper as well. I have inquired about my missing food and the lady has walked by me twice and not followed up. She is running all over the place and clearly needs help. After being here over an hour, I asked yet again, she finally came back and said they were sold out. She did remove it from the bill and had me pay on her hand held tablet instead. Also, the table next to us was there for about 30 minutes when they came back and said something they ordered was sold out. Also happened to the table that was there before us where they ordered, waited, and told finally it was sold out. They do need a better system and should prioritize dine in orders before to go and phone orders. I can get this food much cheaper and faster in Westminster and Garden Grove. It will be quite awhile before we return and only if we see the reviews improve. Sad as I love to support small businesses and want them to succeed. I hope they read their reviews and take them seriously and fix these items. We drive by here 3 times a week, so we could easily stop by. I only knocked down two stars as what we did...
Read moreAfter hearing so much about Tasty Dim Sum, we were excited to check out their Anaheim location, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. Honestly, it’s worth the extra 20-minute drive to the original location in Chino.
When we arrived at 10:16 AM (they open at 10), the chairs were all piled up against the wall—so maybe they were just running behind, but it wasn’t a great first impression. Inside, the restaurant felt a bit run-down. The tables were sticky, and the condiments (like the soy sauce containers) looked like they'd seen better days—dried and crusted on from what seemed like a month's worth of use.
As for the food, it was very underwhelming. Two dishes we definitely do not recommend: the Steamed Shrimp Dumplings (aka Shrimp Har Gow) and the Spicy Lo Mein Noodles. The Shrimp Har Gow had a dry, cracked dough that immediately broke when lifted—nothing like the chewy texture you’d expect from a fresh, well-made dumpling. It felt like they were either frozen or premade and just reheated when ordered. The Spicy Noodles were another disappointment—$8.99 for a tiny bowl of noodles with only a few bites worth. It was more of a side dish than an entrée, and honestly, it should’ve been priced at $4.99, max. So be wary of the XO Sauce Lo Mein as well, as same.
To be fair, the place was not very busy with only a couple and a family of three inside, but the lack of attention to detail in both service and food quality made the experience less than enjoyable.
We’re glad we tried both the Anaheim and Chino locations to compare. If you’re looking for better dim sum, skip Anaheim and head to Chino. That location has a line out the door and tons of takeout orders...
Read moreWe heard about this place through tiktok and I think I just found my new fave dim sum place. The menu options are wonderful and the staff are quick and very sweet. Not to mention the pricing is very affordable and reasonable and portions are large.
We ordered: Beef noodle soup: beef was super soft and well seasoned. Super rich but not too salty taste. Egg noodles were cooked to perfection and came with more noodles than we expected. Chicken w/ sticky rice in lotus leaf: soooo yummy! the scent of the lotus leaf was cooked in so well and tasted amazing. The chicken inside was very flavorful but not overpowering. I LOVE that it's only chicken and mushrooms inside because some places include way too many ingredients. Rice roll w/ deep fried donut: the rice roll was fluffy and chewy, and the deep fried donut was crunchy and fluffy as well! Porridge w/ preserved egg: MY FAVORITE. I always have to try this at any dim sum place but this was hands down the best I've ever had. The broth was suuuuuper flavorful and the porridge was the perfect thickness. Lots of preserved egg inside too. Egg tarts: not too sweet, just the right flavor! The tart itself was fluffy and flaky, and the egg went so well with the tart.
The staff here were very kind and sweet as well. I had a great experience and can't wait to...
