The staff we spoke to when initially making our reservations and booking our fitting appointment (due to Covid 19) were very pleasant, courteous and helpful. However, once we arrived to pick up our equipment, the staff assisting us was not very pleasant at all. Very short with us, impatient and appeared to be annoyed overall. They did not want to answer any questions we had, assist my kids with getting their boots fitted or addressing my concerns about quality of the boots. We paid for the best equipment, but two pair of boots were awful. My son's boots had a broken tongue and were very uncomfortable for him. My wife's boots were unwearable for her after the first day. When we asked for a different pair, we were told they didn't have any others to give us. We ended up renting boots from another place near by who were very courteous and pleasant. The difference in the quality of the replacement boots were night and day. The quality of the Cottam's skis were fine. I'm sure the staff assisting us was having a bad day, but the overall experience and quality of the boots were unacceptable. Unfortunately, we will not be using Cottam's for our ski rental needs...

UPDATE I went back to purchase a T-shirt and return a ski boot strap they we missed when we returned our rentals the day prior. The nice woman who was working the register the day we came in to pick up our rentals was not there. There were 4 employees within 6 feet of me and no one said a word. I had a tshirt in my hand that I was going to purchase as a stood by the cash register they all ignored me. When I finally said I have this strap that goes with the equipment we returned yesterday a guy took it from me but said nothing. Not thanks, not hello, not is there anything else I can help you with?! As I stood there with merchandise to purchase, I had to ask him if he could ring me up. He did but nothing, no pleasantries, no thanks for shopping with us, nothing. He...

Long story: We actually rented our skis at the shop in Taos Ski Valley as they had some rental skis we were hoping to try. On the first day skiing [at Angel Fire], my wife injured her knee. That afternoon, this shop worked with her to keep her Taos Ski Valley rentals and get her a different pair, allowing us to exchange them later in the week to return the originals back to Taos. Three days later, I needed rentals for our last 1 or 2 days and they worked with me to get a great ski for 2 days. That evening, my wife and I decided to head home (she was unable to ski and I would have been by myself all day) so I took the skis back early the next morning, The shop owner realized I had paid for 2 days but only used them 1 and refunded the second day! Like I said, the extra mile. They will have my business the next time I need to rent skis...
