Clean and tidy. Not the best customer service. Spent almost an hour trying to find the 5 items on my list. Only the meat department staff acknowledged me and asked if I needed help with anything, so if they were separate they'd get 5 stars. However after finally finding everything I needed (and having to walk each aisle about 2-3 times passing the same workers each time ) I finally found what I needed to checkout. One lane with a cashier was open, and the self checkout was also open. The two cashiers were so focused on their personal conversation, I legitimately thought that the lane they were on was actually closed because they didnt even acknowledge me. In self checkout, I had items that needed to have approval, and had try 5 times get their attention even though those self checkout lanes are loud on their own also stating " assistance required" , and they were 2 feet away. Once I was able to get their attention, they seemed annoyed that I interrupted their personal conversation, and barely helped because it happened multiple times during my self checkout (again, not many items I was even getting in the first place)due to the computer system, and each time I had to repeat the process of getting their attention. And each time just as quickly they would return to their private conversation. Im not against coworkers talking about their personal lives. However, It would have been quicker for them to pause the conversation and wait until the customer was taken care of, as checkout itself took most of my time in the store. Meat department 5 stars.    Read moreFareway is my favorite, neighborhood store…especially daytime hours during the week. The store managers and ‘mature’ employees are always friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the weekends and evening shifts feel off and not welcoming from younger employees. It’s obvious some cashiers don’t want to be there as their aloof attitudes towards customers is not acceptable. Today’s cashier looked angry while I checked out and this is not the first time experiencing this type of behavior at the store. For instance, a bag of Dole garden salad mix is $1.99, where the same thing, but Walmart brand at Walmart (same weight too) is under $1. The cheapest salsa is $2.49, where Walmart has their brand for under $1.50. Understandably, Walmart has larger buying power and larger capacity for more choices, it seems Fareway, sadly, is losing the battle for those who are more costly conscious.
