The Ann Arbor PTO Thrift Shop is one of my favorite thrift shops in Ann Arbor. They clean the place well and have a good selection of things. They don't seem to have very many men's clothing, but other than that there is everything from records and CDs to furniture (tons of it). The PTO The PTO Thrift Shop is the cheapest thrift store I've been to in Ann Arbor other than the Reuse Center. Depending on the item of course, but the two are comparable. But you tend to find nicer things at the PTO Thrift Shop as there are less people there. The Reuse center is highly picked over.

The only reason I am giving it four stars is because of their electronics return policy. They test all electronics which is nice, but they offer NO returns on items because they have deemed them working. This is fine for some simpler things, but they can't possibly have tested everything on every item. I am always afraid that I will buy something and a function of it will not work.

Other than that, this place is fantastic and the workers are usually...

As a DONOR, I am often frustrated by receiving room staff rudeness, they signed on for this job. Please don't treat me like I am making demands on you. If this process offends you, perhaps choose an alternate line of work! They have rigid rules: if there has been one flake of snow or raindrop, they refuse the donation you have driven there. One day I arrived 15 minutes prior to closing and dropped off stuff. On my last trip back to the car the door went shut, I quickly gave a holler and knocked to no response. I work with the public, do not punch a clock and always stay until the job is done. I want this money to go to AAPS and do not wish to donate to Salvation Army, but they do come to your car, unload it any day and SMILE!! As a SHOPPER, I am nothing but pleased. They can often fill a special niche'. Or I could try something new at a low cost w/o investing too much. Reasonable...

Loved the piece I got and the employees were super helpful in getting it loaded. However, they charge an additional fee for using a credit card, which is fine when it’s not an additional $45 on a $430 purchase. Credit card transactions, while costing a business more to accept over cash, don’t cost anywhere near that much (you pay the processor per transaction, not on the total amount). I feel like there should be a $10 cap on the fee or something. I paid it because I really really loved the piece but I probably won’t come back here knowing that’s how they charge for things. Also the piece I bought was definitely brought in as a single piece but they split it and charged per piece, which made it higher than I felt it should have been at a thrift store. I still paid less than I would have had it been at an antique store, but the whole practice felt like taking advantage of...
