They say it themselves, "This coffee is an experience." They're right it really is!
Their menu has plenty of options- quite possibly something for everyone in your family. The coffee is great! I order the same thing every time because I'm that kind of person, but I love how nuanced every cup is. I always look forward to the next visit because of the subtlety. I haven't tried the food (yet), but based on how frequently you hear, "Cheesy P!" you know it's good. 😂
Their staff are friendly, unpretentious, and very accommodating. I overheard an employee helpfully offer to make a drink "like Starbucks" for a customer. You gotta appreciate that level of thoughtfulness & accessibility! I dropped my coffee as I got to my car once :( I went back inside, embarrassed, but ready to buy another. They remade my drink without hesitation- free of charge, no questions asked! 🥲
You can get coffee everywhere these days, but this place is one of a kind! From the lobsters 🦞, to Pac-Man, the Datsun, and everything else in between.
For the detail-oriented planners: Car folks can park (free) along the building, in the back, or on the street. Don't park where you're not supposed to though- check for the signs! The street can get busy at times as it's just off a light industrial area. (Many people walk/bike and you'll frequently see others with kids and/or dogs, so keep...
Read moreI love coming to the Rosewood location versus Liberty as it is quieter, easier to park, and you have more room outside to sit and enjoy the weather (no matter even if it is raining) & your coffee. There are 3 sizes to the cappucino now for everyone’s needs - the small, the next size up from the traditional, is like a latte but with a stronger coffee flavor. They use Calder’s dairy and Oatly for oat milk - the best brands for dairy and a milk alternative in my opinion. You can taste the difference! The baked goods are consistently delicious - a little on the pricey side which is why I would give 4 stars but 5 stars for taste! I like that they rotate bakeries as well. The staff are kind & friendly - I’ve never had a bad experience. I like that I can ask them how they are and that they do the same - even if it’s a busier day. Those little moments of connection are precious and have helped me through some challenging times & this place was a source of comfort where I could escape. It’s quirky, eco-friendly, and yummy. If you come to AA, you have to make...
Read moreMy go-to spot for coffee in Ann Arbor! I moved here during the pandemic so I haven't properly experienced it, but it's still a fantastic spot. The foundation of a good coffee shop is excellent coffee; simple in concept but hard to nail. I think Roos Roast absolutely nails this. Their selection is fantastic (my personal faves are Rich French Neighbor and Lobster Butter Love) and is well sourced. In my experience, most of their roasts are in the medium-dark range. They've also got great baked treats from other local businesses.
Something that really struck me about the business is their attention to detail and sustainability-- solar panels on the roof, compostable single-use cups. The first time I ever came in, the owner had just ridden in on his bike. He went out of his way to welcome me and was having a great conversation with his employees. To me, this is the mark of a good business and, more importantly, a center of the community. Can't wait to check it out once this...
