Sunny Day Satisfaction at Biercamp
On a bright sunny day, I ventured to Biercamp in Ann Arbor for a delightful lunch takeout experience that still leaves my taste buds reminiscing. Known for their commitment to handmade, locally sourced foods, Biercamp offers a rustic charm that is hard to find elsewhere.
Most Enjoyed Dish: The 12HR Smoked Brisket sandwich was the star of the meal. Served on a soft, buttery brioche bun, the brisket was incredibly juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, complemented beautifully by the tanginess of pickles and onions, and a delicious BBQ sauce that tied everything together perfectly.
Also Tried:
-Cheddar Hot Dogs: Freshly made in-house and smoked on site, these hot dogs were a treat. Served on a toasted bun, they were a simple pleasure that brought out the child in me. -Chicken Bratwurst: Also made in-house and served on a toasted bun, the bratwurst was succulent and seasoned to perfection, making for a satisfying bite.
Loved Their Self-Served Topping Bar: A highlight was their self-served topping bar, which featured a variety of condiments including yellow mustard, dijon, backwoods sweet jalapeno mustard, ketchup, BBQ sauce, onions, sauerkraut, dill relish, and sweet relish. This allowed for a personalized touch to each dish, enhancing the flavors according to my preference.
Other Thoughts: I'm particularly intrigued by their nitro cold brew, which I plan to try on my next visit. The concept of combining a craft brewery atmosphere with exceptional food quality makes Biercamp a standout.
Final Impressions: Biercamp is more than just a barbecue spot; it's a testament to the art of in-house meat preparation and smoking, complemented by an impressive selection of craft beers. Whether you’re dining in their all-season outdoor beer garden or grabbing a quick takeout, their dedication to quality and flavor is evident. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a genuine, flavorful meal in a casual,...
Read moreI simply cannot go to Ann Arbor without a stop at this place. In a world where words like local, house-made, fresh and free samples reign this place covers them all. Throw in words like bacon, sausage and smoked and my mouth is watering before we get in the door. There's always a warm and friendly greeting by whoever is working the counter. Have a question, just ask and they will talk to you about any of their products. My favorites are the bratwursts. Their flavors are unique and delicious but you also can't go wrong with the original or the all beef. If I'm really going to splurge I'm going home with a pound of bacon as well. They also have sausage and the andoulle is spicy and delicious. You will notice there isn't a lot of fat/grease when cooking up any of their products. They have smoked sausage sticks and I always grab one for the ride back home, BBQ or Teriyaki being my favorites!! They have slowly been expanding their food menu and now offer their sausages, brats, as well as their famous pulled pork sandwich. On my most recent visit all of the stars aligned and I found myself there at lunch time, not in a hurry, with beautiful weather begging me to stop, relax, and enjoy lunch on their patio, which is now enclosed and all of the tables have umbrellas. My husband went with a bratwurst and a beer and couldn't have been happier. I had the delicious pulled pork tater tots. They were a thing of beauty, layer upon layer of deliciousness and yet the tots didn't get soggy. It was an amazing culinary feat if you ask me!! When you plan your trip make sure your stomach is empty and you allow yourself time to stay...
Read moreVery interesting place with great beer and meats. We found out that Ricewood was out of most meats on Saturday and decided to try out BBQ in this place. As an asian, I was worried that the food might be too greasy like regular bar food judging by the menu, but this place really had fresh (farm to table), tasty yet non-greasy food. We ordered brisket sandwich, Chicago dog, a bratwurst without bun, tater tots, hickory smoked jerky and two IPAs. The brisket sandwich was quite nice. And if you prefer a light taste, I would suggest asking for bbq sauce on the side (the combo of brisket and pickles were flavorful enough for me). The hot dog was also very good. I especially liked the self-serve hot dog topping/sauce bar, which was fun. I also liked the limited selection of beers: there is only one "IPA" and I did not need to think about which IPA to order! Tater tots were surprisingly tasty yet light instead of greasy. Hickory smoked jerky was the best jerky I have had: not salty and very fresh. The atmosphere was unique. There was no "restaurant". You order at the counter (be aware of long lines at Saturday night), and choose to sit outside, outside in a covered space or in an old-fashioned small house (cute but a there was a weird smell inside). I preferred the covered space but it could be crowded in peak times. Overall, a hidden gem and I would recommend beer & meat...
