Addressing an issue I had with your equine manager Chris while loading alfalfa and Bermuda. In February this year posting my full issue since i received no feedback on the situation. The alfalfa bale he tried to give me had sun damage along the whole side of the bale. With the price of hay these days we obviously want the best for our animals a bale that has that much sun damage is not acceptable especially when there are other easily accessible better bales close at hand. As the customer one would think if I paid for a product, I should get a say in what is acceptable and the standard I expect. Your manager Chris told me I get what I get the sun damage is not an issue. I explained it was to me and I wanted a different bale. He told me I get 2 more choices and then we are done. At that point I pointed to a particular bale and said if it's an issue I can get it and load it myself I was told and understand they do not allow customers to do that. The exchange continued with him getting more and more confrontational hands on his hips an aggressive posture and him finally telling me it is what it is I get what I get and if I don't like it, I can go shop somewhere else! The confrontation ended with me asking to speak to a manager and for his name his reply which his 2 friends found entertaining was "my name is Chris with a C". There was no need for that level of belligerence and attitude. I am not a big account, but I have pulled up all my Shoppers bills from November the 10th to yesterday at 3:30pm February the 22 and my total expenditure at Shoppers was $1753 over the year that would add up to roughly $5300. I am taking Chris with a C's advice and will in the future be shopping somewhere else. I can honestly say this was probably one of the worst shopping experiences of my life hence the time I took to speak to the deputy manager because the store manager was not in. She was very professional and nice but did try and excuse and defend the indefensible admitting however he should not have told me to go shop somewhere else. This is not something I could just brush off because of how rude Chris was and I feel he felt emboldened by the fact he had his 2 buddies with him who he thought would intimidate me. It has had the complete opposite effect and I am speaking up so nobody else is put through an...
Read moreI want to give a shout out to two employees at this location. Unfortunately I only know one of their names. The first one (the nameless one) was a man who had helped my Mother in Law and I picking out chicks. Very knowledgeable having several egg laying chickens of his own, willing to answer any question to the best of his ability. Very friendly and approachable. A great gentleman and employee anyone would be lucky to have.
The next employee I want to praise is Jeni. She took care of us out check out. To preface, my Mother in Law was, at the time, just coming out of a 3 week stay in the hospital and had use of only 1 hand and had to rely on a walker to remain ambulatory. Jeni did everything she could in anyway she could to help us. So sweet and bubbly. Her kind voice and eyes were so warm and calming.
You know how there’s those customer service people who you can tell they have to put on a face to be friendly? This wasn’t her. She was in her element, as easy as breathing to her was this. We had gotten so many heavy bags of chicken and horse feeds and treats and salt licks. Had no problem helping me move them around in the cart to find all the barcodes to scan. Offering to drive the motorized cart back from our car. All with that “award winning smile”. I don’t think I can go to another supply store now that I know in what good hands this...
Read moreI wanted to express my gratitude to the kind, caring employees at Shoppers in Apache Jctn, AZ. Yesterday, July 5, 2024 I ran in to buy a new lead rope for our 28 year old (you would have guessed him to be an 8 year old) Arabian Stallion , "Stormy". I had called the emergency mobile vet, Dr. Burrows and couldn't locate the lead rope I needed. Stormy was traumatized by the fireworks being set -off in the RV park directly on other side of the fence next to his pen area. They were the high exploding rockets that lit up entire area above him when they exploded. Stormy went absolutely crazy trying to escape what he was frightened by. In doing so, he tore his intestines from kicking and bucking and trying to jump fence. Our most loved pet and intelligent, funny, loving family member had to be put down, because of the inconsiderate persons who saw he was scared to death and kept on setting off more of the same. I never got to use the new lead rope - shoppers gladly refunded me the money, but they also took back two full bales of hay I no longer was in need of. They waited for me to load one bale at a time and bring to them right before closing time. There were extra nice and empathetic to the terrible thing that had happened in...
