Cafe Mix 2 — Restaurant in Apache Junction

Absolutely terrible service. I would give 0 stars if I could.

We placed an order for dinner tonight. My husband stated there was a dairy allergy and we requested salad without cheese and sandwiches without sauce. My husband picked up our food and immediately upon arriving home noticed that the sandwiches were covered in dairy. We immediately called. We spoke to the cashier who told us the sandwiches would be remade for us. We asked if she wanted us to bring the other sandwiches back. She said let me go ask someone. She came back and notified us that we didn’t need to bring the sandwiches back but could come right in to pick up the corrected order. My husband said great I’m on my way back and I’m not bringing the other sandwiches. She said okay see you soon.

My husband arrived, the new sandwiches were done, but because we didn’t bring the old sandwiches back they refused to give my husband the new sandwiches. He explained that we had just talked on the phone and showed them the photo of his sandwiches covered in sauce. They still refused to accommodate us. He did not have time to drive back and fourth for a third time. They refused to let him leave without paying for the corrected sandwich.

I immediately called and asked to speak to the manager. The cashier told me that she was the only one there along with the two cooks. She refused to provide me any way to contact her manager, when the manager would be in, anyone else I could speak to, or give me her name. She did not offer an apology and had a horrible attitude on the entire call. We had been coming here on a regular basis since they opened and referred many friends and family there. When I explained my disgust with the way this situation was being handled and that they made us pay MORE money for THEIR mistake and that we wouldn’t be coming back she said that was my husband and my fault. I asked her why she would change her mind after telling my husband and I explicitly that we didn’t need to bring the wrong sandwiches back. She said it was from her “manager” who is not in the building and cannot...

Good food and staff, clean, etc. But for a family-owned business, they care very little about the families of their employees. Before my shift on 7/12/2022, my younger brother was hospitalized after a suicide attempt, and I drove to meet him at the hospital in Buckeye, an hour away. I knew I'd be late if not absent, but calling my boss was the last thing on my mind as I sped to my only brother. Finally, as I was nearing the hospital, I gathered my thoughts enough to call and try to explain what was happening - only to be cut off completely and told that I was fired. I understand that a no-call no-show is usually an automatic termination, but you'd think that someone who advertises themselves so heavily as family-oriented would at least listen to the woman crying on the phone about her near-dead brother. If you eat here, just understand that the management and ownership smile very fake smiles that are crafted to drain your wallet and charm you into coming back for more. The old white man who runs both Cafe Mix and Cafe Mix 2, and the brothers who own the establishments and more, do not truly care about their customers or employees, and will do most anything for a quick buck. Let me start with saying I've eaten at numerous greek style restaurants across the states. The food at Cafe Mix is the best I've had, and only second to one specific place in Greece I've been.

I've tried both chicken and lamb gyros, and have been impressed with both. Pitas are fresh, warm, and soft, while the meat is incredibly tender and seasoned perfectly. The tzatziki is incredible, not too runny, but full of flavor. I've tried to make it at home and just can't match the balance this sauce has here!! The vegetables they use are fresh, crunchy, and perfectly portioned.

I'm usually not the biggest fan of Greek fries, but the seasoning as well as the vinaigrette they put on these is hands down the best Greek fries I've ever had.

I'll be returning regularly, and look forward to trying different dishes!

Update: Went back again and just have to say this is consistently the best Greek food I've had. Such great presentation, quantities, fresh veggies, and extremely friendly...
