I've shopped here a number of times over the years, and it has definitely gone downhill in those years. A few things:
The prices are high, typically 25% - 100%+ higher than eBay. For this reason, the vast majority of inventory is always the same. Many of the toys we've purchased have had a strong odor of cigarette smoke, and may others (which we haven't purchased) have significant sun damage as they have been left by the windows for years, unprotected. The customer service isn't great; I don't think the owners have ever said more than a word or two to me in all these years.
Despite these things, I've always enjoyed looking around and supporting a local business. After my experience this weekend, however, I won't be returning.
My son and I looked around the store for 30 minutes or so, collected a number of purchases, and went to check out. There was one other customer there, who was clearly friends with the owners, and we stood and waited at the counter for a good 15 minutes without any of the 3 employees in the conversation even making eye contact or otherwise acknowledging us standing there. When it was clear that we were never going to be acknowledged, we left our items on the counter and left the store.
It is clear that this store is run as a hobby and not a business. Unless you are personal friends with the owners, your presence is tolerated but not...
Read moreI've been here many times and EVERY SINGLE MOMENT that I've shopped here it has been a great experience. His selections are awesome, and he is always very caring with the customers. I myself love and collect Hot Wheels, or ANY vehicle with 2 to 18 wheels. Also Star Wars Black Series, Marvel Legends, both 6" and 3.75" sizes. While he may not have everything, I'll say this, I've ALWAYS left with a BAG FULL of die-cast cars and/or figures. Another note, these aren't Wal-Mart or Target priced items, HOWEVER Replay BLOWS Wal-Mart away as far as selections. Scalpers have been wiping the shelves clean, then tripling their money on eBay. Sad VERY sad. These prices are decent, fair, and I'll gladly SUPPORT a LOCAL BUSINESS over a eBay scalper any day of the year. This is a...
Read moreI've spent so much money on Lego sets at chain stores. When I was a kid we preferred miscellaneous blocks no instruction books no rules. My son who is 4 can't do the sets and getting just blocks is a rip off buying new. Replay gave me a huge tub of mixed blocks random vehicles etc for $15 and they sell in bulk I think it's $10 per pound. I also saved a bunch on littlest pet shop stuff my daughter wanted. This store is well organized and by that I mean more organized than most resale shops I d been in. The owner knows the products he sells, he is fair and the customer service is much better than you will get at...
