Lady Octopus Tattoos — Local services in Arlington

I went here for my bday about a month ago. Caitlin was my artist and while she was very sweet, I didn't feel like she listened to my feedback when it came to my tattoo. I wanted a simple tattoo out of memory of my mom and we did discuss color since the reference photo looks to have some color in it (I'm aware the photo could be Ai). Once she was done outlining, I gave her my feed back, but she seemed hesitant to follow through on it. I'm new with tattoos so I'm not sure what to expect and I thought I was just being paranoid the entire time. I left happy at first, but once in the sun, I saw that the lines were not great and overlapped others. I went back after my tattoo was wrapped, and Caitlin reassured me the tattoo would thicken out after two weeks, which it did. After a month though, the ink started to come out of my skin and certain lines became much thicker then the rest. I'm now worried that if I have a touch up, I'll no longer be able to achieve the original tattoo I wanted (last photo). If this is the case, I'm considering getting this tattoo removed altogether to start over. In terms of the shop though, the shop inside is clean and very well decorated. I sadly just...

I think it was fate that I stumbled upon Lady Octopus on a walk one day since I was already planning on finally getting my first tattoo. And let me just say that this was the perfect place to get it. First of all, the service is top notch. Jonathan was extremely helpful in discussing the pricing and answering all of my questions. Not only that, I forgot my bag with the after care lotion after I left, and he dropped it off at my apartment himself so I would be sure to have it the next day. It really doesn't get any better than that.

I really couldn't have asked for a better artist than Gilda. She is extremely talented. She is very considerate and discussed every aspect of the tattoo (placement, look, etc) with me, and gave me suggestions when I asked for them. I felt very comfortable throughout the whole process due to wonderful conversations alongside her kickass talent.

Getting a tattoo is always personal, but for my mom, her very first tattoo was something beyond that—it was a way to honor my brother who passed away. Gilda, co-owner of Lady Octopus Tattoo, was her artist, and I cannot say enough about the experience.

On top of that, her artistry is incredible—the design was thoughtful, beautifully executed, and captured exactly what my mom hoped for.
