Not only the worst furniture shopping experience ever, but the worst shopping experience in general. I've purchased several C&B pieces over the years and it's always been smooth sailing. This time I was preparing for a big move and purchased five figures worth of pieces. The salesperson told me a few pieces were out of stock but that they'd arrive by mid July. The rest would arrive July 1st, four weeks out. July 1st comes and goes, nothing. They call the next morning and say they'll be there between 9-12. Nothing. Another call that it'd be 4-7. Nothing. No calls, no notifications.
I make some desperate calls and they promise my furniture in a week and a half. Unacceptable but I want my furniture so I accept with their guarantee that it will arrive on July 11th. In the meantime, I call to get an updated ETA on the backordered pieces. They tell me that it's now going to be late August before I can have my furniture. I've now decided to cancel the order except for the sofa that is supposed to arrive on July 11th. And of course, today the truck arrives without the sofa.
So to date, I've paid this store five figures, spent four entire days waiting for deliveries that weren't coming, gotten zero proactive phone calls, and have lived in an empty house waiting on their empty promises. C&B will never earn my...
Read moreTerrible experience. They sold me a faulty product and then wouldn't fix it. They claim they are no longer responsible since it's from the "old store" which closed down. Then they told me to call the website customer service number, and that that would help me. They did not, despite being on the phone for over one hour. I was looking for a mat to a frame that was faulty. Literally a piece of cardboard, which was faulty when they sold it to me, and they refused. Their website says "we stand behind the quality of our products and want every purchase to be a positive experience. We will do our best to make things right if you are not satisfied." LIE and LIE. A giant waste of time for me and a huge disappointment that Crate and Barrel won't stand behind it's products, even when it was clearly their defect (which they admitted to). To make it better, they told me that they would give me a 10% off coupon (which they're offering to everyone on the website. That's insulting.
Someone from Crate and Barrel will respond to this and tell me to call them back and that they'll help me. They won't. It's just them trying to cover for themselves and pretend they care about their products and that they're customer friendly. Neither is true. Don't...
Read moreVisited the store in Clarendon on 28th July to purchase a lamp for my Son who had just moved to Arlington. Sales assistant didn't know how to use the terminal and place an order, had to change terminals 3 times due to system lagging. Finally placed order on terminal but system froze at transaction, she called for a "supervisor" whose knowledge wasn't much better, supervisor said best thing to do was reboot the system and assured me that the order would not have gone through. Redid entire transaction again and after 25 mins finally placed order. Five days later my son received two identical lamps and on checking my account they had taken two payments. Contacted the store and they said we had to return the lamp to them (despite it being their error) refund would be processed on receipt of lamp. Lamp sent back day after delivery and here we are 3 weeks after they received the lamp into their warehouse with no refund. My son has been attempting to phone the store who are frankly very unhelpful, no apology and no up to date tracking system on returns and he was put on hold for over 30 mins trying to speak to a Manager. Shocking customer care, poorly trained staff and no follow up,...
