Ethan Allen — Local services in Arlington

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! In April 2021 my husband and I were searching for furniture for our new home.  I purchased a few pieces of furniture at Pottery Barn before without any regrets but we wanted to go in a different direction this time.  We went to Ethan Allen because we thought it was high end and good quality furniture. We ordered furniture for our Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen and our new Bedroom.  We also placed an order for Window treatments for the entire house (About 30/35 Windows).  We placed the furniture in April 2021 and we were told and assured that the furniture was going to be delivered and installed in August 2021 the latest.  It is Mid-November and we are still waiting for our furniture to arrive.  We were so very disappointed that we wanted to cancel our furniture order but our request was denied. A couple of weeks ago we received a sofa and a dining table.  The sofa arrived with a big and noticeable stain on one of the cushions and some dents on the wood.  First, We contacted Ethan Allen several times since August to follow-up and get updates about our furniture and the sales representative was not too helpful and always gave vague answers.  There was and still there is not a straight answer regarding delivery dates and now about the sofa cushion replacement.  All I heard is Ethan Allen processes and a lot of excuses to fulfill our furniture order and get the furniture replaced. The last time I spoke with the sales rep. she literally said:  "I am hoping you are enjoying your beautiful furniture" I am not sure how she dared to say so knowing that I/we can not have our house set up yet.

I am SO VERY DISAPPOINTED and deeply regret the day we decided to stop at Ethan Allen instead of going back to Pottery Barn since I knew how serious they take customer's business.I wish I could go back in time or have the opportunity to return what we just received and cancel the remaining pieces of furniture order, I will DEFINITELY do that.

I thought Ethan Allen was a serious and respectful furniture store with good quality pieces of furniture but now I know they are not.  Sadly I can say, I was wrong.If you take CUSTOMERS seriously and a piece of advice from a very frustrated customer, you should train your people to be more honest, straightforward and respectful with your customers and their needs.  This is not a joke, we are spending money on your business, nothing has been given for free.  We had to cancel two or three events in our new home because we had and still have an...

Antoinette Ricafort, Design Consultant for Ethan Allen, has been my Design Consultant for my Virginia apartment for the last five years. The day I walked into the Clarendon store was a very lucky day for me. Antoinette is a lovely presence when u meet her, always perfectly dressed, and has a positive, can do personality. Antoinette “gets me.” She took time to come to my place, observe the furnishings, and ascertain what I was trying to achieve before she made her own suggestions. She always puts together a design board with her own choices but also others for consideration. I learned to trust her and was never disappointed. She is the absolute best with color mixes. She so totally blended fabrics with the colors in my paintings already in place and also tied the colors on my walls she suggested so there was a synergy to my rooms. She moved two very large paintings to one wall, which I would not have considered, in order to achieve positioning a new curio to accommodate memorabilia gathered from my travels. A lovely desk and storage unit provided beautiful pieces of furniture but also organized my paperwork and filled space. She put together what she called my “Hollywood “ bedroom, which absolutely thrilled me with the mix of fabrics, rug, and furnishings. I have always been a fan of modern furniture and glass. She convinced me a mix of wood and glass would warm the place up. In the end, my place is the happy, colorful place that makes me thrilled to awaken in the morning when sunlight streams through my windows. Antoinette pushed me to act, did find sales understanding my financial limits, and basically achieved what I couldn’t over many years. She, while a great leader for Ethan Allen, is honest about cost and timing of delivery. She has come on her day off to take delight in and lend her space positioning ability to the newest of the furnishings. I value her now as a friend and an ongoing consultant and would highly recommend her to anyone needing to put a touch of elegance...

Everyone has a vision when they start looking for new furniture. Some more than others. I didn’t have a total vision when I contacted Sidney by email about replacing furniture in my TV area in the kitchen. I wanted to make the area appear larger. I also wanted a chair with a light where my husband could read. Lastly, I wanted to replace one bookcase for another. She got back with me very quickly and set up an appointment to come to my apartment to talk about the design. We discussed the things I wanted and the things I was less clear about. For example media cabinet and furniture style. Did I want to replace the table and lamp I already had. Did I have a budget? I didn’t really know how much I wanted to spend. I told her to go back and put everything in her plan and then we would take away. She went back to the Ethan Allen store and worked up a plan using the measurements she took on her visit. We set up a time for me to visit the store and see as many of the furniture pieces they had on display along with samples of material. She showed me the plan she had made and how all of it would fit into my little TV area. I loved all of it except for the material she had picked out for the pillows. No problem, we just picked out something I liked and she thought would look right. She worked up an itemization of all of the pieces. I discussed it with my husband. We bought it all.
