Update 2025: kAS is still more expensive than other stores like Meijers or Walmart. So I’ll only shop there on rare occasions. I have to say one of the things I dislike the most about this store is walking in to a grocery store and finding liquor and lots of it, at the entrance. Other stores that carry liquor at least stock it further back in the store, not showcasing it as the most important product they want you to see first. Sorry, but kind of low class if you ask me.
Updated may 8 2022…. Dropping my rating to one star. Need to price check before you shop at Kaz. Miracle whip salad dressing 30 oz. $8.39 at Kaz, $4.69 meijers. Hunts tomato sauce no salt 15 oz $2.09 Kaz vs $1.29 Meijers.
It’s nice to support your local store, if you can afford it. Absolutely no reason for Kaz to be charging almost $4 more for a jar of mayo.
See updated review below from Jan 2020. Changed from 1 to 3 stars. Went there twice but Kas did not have the products I wanted; products that Busch’s used to carry. Bagged spinach was marked use by June 20 but already showing signs of spoilage on the 12th. I guess I don’t like the fact that the liquor was moved so near the front door, as if that’s one of the main products they want to highlight. I liked Busch’s better, but still take my business to Meijers where they carry a good amount of fresh organic fruits and veggies.
UPDATE Jan 2020 Updating Jan 2020. While I don’t shop here often , I’ve been here more frequently since discovering their chicken pot pie in the deli. Really good. Try it. I also think they’re paying attention to customer requests. On a few occasions I’ve told them what product I was looking for, and found that they started carrying it after that. So while I continue to do my major grocery shopping at Meijers because of the larger number of choices, I’m using Kas more for those last minute items...and the...
Read moreWent here for the first time today. The staff were super friendly and helped me find most of the items I needed. Despite my concerns stated below, I'd still visit this business if I were in need of a small grocery run.
I came here primarily for produce, which the website boasted a great selection, but I found the produce section lacking some basics. I specifically needed red leaf lettuce which they did not carry (there was only iceberg and I believe romaine hearts) and there was no selection of fresh herbs except for parsley which was strangely bundled with a twist tie like you'd see at other grocery stores but then placed on a foam tray and then plastic wrapped. Actually, most of their produce was packaged this way, so I opted to only purchase produce that didn't have this unnecessary packaging.
There were also some premade bagged salads on sale but they had actually expired 2 weeks ago so I made sure to check the expiration date on anything that isn't shelf stable.
The prices were a little high but not too outrageous for most things, but that's to be expected at non-chain grocery stores. Be prepared to spend a little more money to not have to deal with the chaos of larger...
Read moreOk this was the 1st time I've been to this store & it will probably be my last. I took my sister shopping there cause they had good deals on their chicken & hamburger meat. My sister is legally blind & will probably go completely blind at some point do to her diabetes. Anyway she gets less $200 in food stamps each month so she has to find things on sale to make it to the next month. So I know to look for a sign to make sure they accept EBT & right there on the enter door when you go in there's a sign that says WE ACCEPT SNAP & WIC right next to their store hours. So we go inside & get everything she needed & head to the checkout & the girl rings everything up & my sister hands me her card cause she can't see or read the card machine & I tell the lady it's EBT & she tells me that they don't accept EBT. Didn't you see the sign? I said yes I seen the sign that says you accept EBT right on the door as you walk in. I even took a picture of it when we left empty handed because she couldn't pay for her groceries. I would post the picture of the sign that says WE ACCEPT EBT &...
