Carleton Hotel Bar — Restaurant in Ash Township

Wish I could put 0 stars. We came on a Saturday evening there was one table of customers and 2 people at the bar. So not busy. We sat and waited 15 minutes for her to come get our drink order. Then we sat. People came in after us. They got their food order taken. Waitress came out to check on the table by us then went back tbehind the bar. Never came and took our order. We sat there for 45 minutes with only 4 other parties in the whole place. I was kinda glad cause the place is filthy anyway and I was scared to eat there anyway. We went to the taps restaurant around the corner and had the BEST food! The place was clean and the waitress was normal and not a crabby lady who didn't want to be bothered with the 4 people in...

I have been here a few times, each time the staff was courteous and efficient. The food is served hot and in a timely fashion. I get the burgers, they are a 1/2 pound burger and they come with fries. It is a good bar burger and it is very filling. We usually come in for lunch, so I don't know what the evenings are like. The lunch time crowd is quiet. The prices? Bar in a historic building with decor that has evolved slowly, piece by piece over the last 130 years. The bar room is cavernous for a late 19th century building. It probably originally served train passengers on short stops and had to accommodate an entire train's worth of customers in the time it took to refuel a steam locomotive.
