This practice has done so much for me and my family. My now ex-wife and I relocated to NOVA in 2009 from NYC. I had an amazing psychologist in NYC for my anxiety and depression but had little luck finding someone equally wonderful in NOVA. After seeing a number of bad to mediocre mental health professionals, my neighbor recommended Dr. Oberschneider. I started seeing "Dr. O" in 2010 with excellent results! What I like about this guy is that he's not only super smart and well trained and credentialed, but he doesn't just sit there and listen to you to say "see you next week." He's an active listner and problem solver and he calls it like it is...even if hearing what he has to say is diffcult. Dr. O has seen me through some of the most difficult moments in my life including the loss of my two parents and my failed marriage. I see Dr. O now on a monthly basis to address life's fine tuning moments, but he's essentially cured my anxiety and depression. Our educational advocate, Sharon Tropf, and Ashburn Pediatrics recommended Dr. O's practice for our son who was diagnosed with autism last year. Dr. Gordon, a neuropsychiatrist at the practice, did an amazingly comprehsive and accurate neuropsych evaluation for our son, that LCPS accepted. The school psychologist even said that Dr. Gordon is the best of the best when it comes to neuropsychs and to getting diagnoses right. We also see Dr. Joseph Novello at the practice for psychiatric care. "Dr. Joe" is also the best of the best, and we can't thank him enough for his support and care, including the late night calls and work with Dr. Gordon and Dr. O to get things right for me and my family. Dr. O most recently went the distance for me with a number of late night calls and weekend meetings in response to a family crisis. There are truly no words to describe how amazing this place is, but I will briefly share my very positive experience for others who may be in need of help to read. Firstly, the care we received here was nothing short of exceptional. We initially came to have our son retested for the Gifted Program in LCPS. While that testing did get him qaulifed, we remained for therapy to help him with his weaker social skills. He's doing great now! We also brought our older son here for depression, excessive video game playing and pot smoking, and he's no longer depressed and he no longer smokes pot or plays video games that much...he also jist got into his second choice college, and we know that this would've never happened with the crash course he was previously on. We are also secondly thankful for the assistance and guidance the doctors gave to us as paremts, and we certainly needed help. Thirdly, thank you to the office manager and for all of her help with our insurance company and everything else. Our oldest son just had his last appointment the other day, and we wanted to thank you with this affirmative good bye and thanks. We will most certainly return if needed, but we are hopeful that we won't need to now that our boys are well and we have the tools to parent better. Happy New Year and...

Our son hit an absolute personal bottom when we found this practice through our pediatrician. He was depressed, anxious, and eventually he shut down and wouldn't attend school at all. We had been to other therapy practices this past year, but none of them were helpful and our son refused to participate or go. Dr Oberschneider got our son from the start and he also got us as parents and us as a family. Our son liked, and continues to like, meeting with Dr Oberschneider and he got better quickly. Dr Oberschneider also recommended neuropsychological testing and medications, and Dr Gordon and Dr Novello were also a huge part of our son's successful recovery. Our son is back to living and loving his life again, and he hasn't missed a single day of school in several weeks. We've also benefitted hugely from our parenting meetings with Dr Oberschneider who is truly am exceptional doctor and therapist. We are so thankful for everything and we recommend this practice 110 percent to parents who have a child in need of mental health treatment.
