Potbelly — Restaurant in Virginia

I love the Potbelly restaurant chain. Simple concept, predictable quality sandwiches prepared your way, hot and delicious--and great shakes to indulge in. I tried this relatively new store today for lunch, and found it way below the norm in a few important ways. First, despite a low customer count, and something like 7 people behind the counter, they could not seem to handle the half a dozen parties moving through the line. The employees seemed confused about orders and what was happening, and the manager at the center tended to shout rudely at the customers asking questions. The store was also a bit of a mess, with the main napkin dispenser empty, despite this being past the lunch rush (about 12:45pm). There was confusion in our order as well and it took about 12 minutes from order to eating.

The most horrifying part, in these difficult times during COVID-10--was the fact that all but one of the employees handling and breathing on our food was not wearing a mask! This was obviously led by the manager, maskless as he barked at customers and employees alike. Completely unprofessional, completely against all common sense about respecting and protecting both employees and customers. Never...

My first time at this location and I will not be returning. I get my haircut nearby so I stopped in for a sandwich before my appointment and waited in line while one of the employees chatted with the customer in front of me “text me the next time...” ...after some time another employee offered to help (thank you), I placed my order and moved down to the next station where the same chatty employee (maybe he owns it, I’m not sure) gossiped with 2 other employees (both young ladies) about how rich the man was that he was just talking to. I stood there staring all 3 in the face, none of them said hello/smiled/greeted me in any way. They continued they’re conversation about the man that had just left as if I wasn’t standing there. I left and went to the Halal Guys next door and ate there instead. What an awful experience.

Update: I have reached out to the customer service email given in the response from the owner. I let them know that I was not interested in returning but that I would like my review shared with the corporate office. It’s been 2 months and...

I came in for a Turkey and provolone sandwich, double meat and cheese, on white bread, skinny, with LTO, Mayo, Italian seasoning, oil, and hot peppers. It was my turn but they let some guy who ordered some weird salad get around for some reason and his order confused them so much they totally screwed up my order because what I ended up getting was a double meat Turkey sub with lettuce, onion, hot peppers on wheat bread with zero cheese and tomato! Wt-actual-f. I remember standing in front of the counter waiting forever to repeat my topics but they were totally lost and the tall bald man was focused on this guy’s salad for some strange reason. He eventually asked what my toppings were and I told him and yet it was still all wrong. I’m hungry and ate it obvi but here is a picture. I’m pretty sure I was overcharged.

I also ordered the dream bar, a side of Mac, and bought a jar of hot peppers.

Idk what’s going on at this location but I think the employees are so scared of the manager that they just don’t...
