It's Thanksgiving, I'm delivering here. My experience at this location goes as follows:
I walk through the receiving door and seen there was an older driver that was looking like he was having trouble standing. He said he'd been there at the window for 20 mins. He was just waiting to give the capstone logistics lumper (Mexican fellow named Justin) his comcheck. I observed Justin sitting there texting. I lightly tapped on window to get his attention. In a fit of rage, his response was to take his fist and punch the glass as hard as he could about 4 times, then point at the no tapping sign.
As he slammed the window open he said, just for that you'll be the last one to get your paper work. Don't expect to leave before 6am ( 11 1/2 hrs from now). I said ok. I then replied Happy Thanksgiving. He than began to lecture me that Thanksgiving was a white mans holiday, and that he didn't celebrate it. He then took the older gentleman's check ( which was my goal in tapping on the window, that way he could go back to his truck ), mission accomplished.
Justin then sat down, put his feet up on the table and began to act like he was texting and sarcastically smiling at me. He wasn't done yet, he stood back up, slammed the window open and started rubbing his stomach. He said, I had a big ol dinner with my family today at home. I guess trying to get under my skin because I'm out on the road working until Christmas, and wasn't home to celebrate with my family. It didn't bother too much, I've come to understand after being on the road for 10 years that the employees at these customers have little to no respect for drivers. I was willing to partake in a little verbal abuse from receiving to help an older fellow driver out.
I said all that to say this. Under no circumstance should you TAP ON THE WINDOW
Happy Thanksgiving to those of you out there that still observe...
Read moreUNFI and its ppl is the hell on earth. Such a disgrace and vulgar place, when you check in with this ppl itâs like looking into devilâs eyes and souls. I don't think humans are working in none of this places. For example if you look in the picture there is a confirmed appointment for delivery made by UNFI team and when driver is trying to check in with receiving, they sayâno your appointment its a day afterâ and this is characteristic for all UNFI with no exception + carriers be aware that for over 3000 cases they count, you will be charged over$500. I mean, if you pickup a load for this ppl for $600 then do the math how much money you gonna make. Even the customer who is doing business with this warehouses that pays all these lumpers, then the carriers, I am wondering how much money do they makeđĽ´. I mean another incident with UNFI down in Stutervant WI was that: receiving ppl are unloading us, but they donât count all cases and leave 2 pallets in your trailer, customer pays then over$500 lumper fee then the fallowing evening you have to come back and check in to unload the remaining 2 pallets, this is their working environment. I have a suggestion for ppl working in this place(UNFI) go to church and pray for your...
Read moreI sure do wished that Google would show -âââââ, this place would definitely rank a -5 â!!! I arrived here at 1500 they did let me park in their parking lot, so thats a good thing, but don't get to excited, it's the ONLY good thing here. You can start checking in at 1800, my appointment time was for 2200, I got up to the window to check in at 1900. I was told that my appointment time wasn't until 2200, I politely agreed with the man, he said just park off to the side and I'll call you when I have a dock for you, I said, OK THANKS. At 2100 they called me with a dock, told me to open the doors and back in, and id get a call or text about my lumper fee. So I opened my doors, backed in the dock at 2100. Well its now 0200, they have not yet even made one trip into my trailer to begin to unload me. YES, I've been in the dock now for 5 hours and they've not even started on me!!! I've contacted the broker and was told to make sure to document my in and out times on the POD when I do get unloaded for my detention pay. So I'll update this review whenever I get out of here. I'm hoping its soon, my next pickup is 150 miles from here in Medford, Wi. with a 6am load time. If you've got a choice, STAY CLEAR OF THIS...
