When we got there the first room we checked into was very clean. My son used the bathroom to pee and the toilet clogged and the A/C was not working at all. We were able to call down and get a different room almost immediately and the staff was very friendly and helpful when it came to swapping rooms. We got into the second room and we noticed the A/C wasn't really working the greatest and the bathroom light was not working. We didn't really think too much of the the A/C being that our children were excited to use the Waterpark as we had just gotten done traveling/shopping and we were excited to get our little mini vacation started with our family. So we just went right to the Waterpark after getting into our 2nd room. Fast forward to when we got back to our 2nd room after the Waterpark closed. As soon as we walked in it was literally like a sauna the the A/C did not work whatsoever. We called down explained what happened and our frustration and they ended up upgrading us to a bigger suite and before doing so my fiance and I wanted to check it out to make sure the A/C and everything else was working being that this would of been the third time we had to swap rooms. The front desk lady happy obliged to our request gave us the keys to third room we checked it out and we were satisfied enough to swap rooms for a 3rd time and be happy about the swap. I just want to say the way the resort handled the situation was above and beyond 5 stars. We are pretty civil and chill people and understand things happen and can respect that finding good workers has now unfortunately become a rarity in today's society. After the 3rd room swap we were given free breakfast in the breakfast buffet which we enjoyed the next morning. Before going to eat I did ask to speak to a manager in which at the time he was in a meeting which we totally understood as we had to eat breakfast anyway. During our breakfast (I forgot the names of all the staff members that worked with us.) The General Manager and the guest experience Manager wgo were very friendly and professional approached us while we were eating introduced themselves and said to go to the front desk after our meal to talk about and address our concerns. Through communicating CIVILY and addressing our concerns like ADULTS. The managers and staff were able to turn our experience around 100%. It's rare we are able to get breaks as my fiance and I are small business owners of a state licensed daycare facility and this break was much needed and overdue for us. The management and staff Gave us a 50% discount on our first night and offered a an extra nighy to us in which they took care of our second night 100% and we were also able to keep the upgraded suite we were already in. Additionally they gave us free breakfast for both mornings we were there. Which was a surprise to us as upon checked out the front desk lady (which I forgot her name but was awesome to work with) asked us if we had eaten breakfast yet as we planned on stopping at kwick trip to grab some breakfast and hit the road to go back home. So it was a nice surprise to have a nice breakfast with our family. To round this whole review out. I will say 10 out of 10 would reccomend. We will definitely be giving them another shot next year as we were kind of skeptical about our experience the last time we were there last year. Everytime we had an issue they went above and beyond and truly took care of us and listened to us when we had our complaint. Upon us leaving we were Thanked for being so civil. Which made me think to write this whole review out and hopefully be a lesson to all the "KARENS" out there that just are rude and have a sense of entitlement and are demanding something when even the slightest thing/s go wrong. If you talk to someone calmly professionally and civilly. Your problems will more than likely be solved 100% of the time. This is proof of that. So A HUGE SHOUT OUT AND THANK YOU! to the tundra lodge staff and management for making things right and going above and beyond to make our time with our family a...
Read moreMy husband and I had our wedding here on 8/7/21. After our wedding it has taken me a few days to gather my thoughts and feelings for this review. I genuinely and wholeheartedly would recommend this venue to any couple that is wedding planning, or anyone in general that is looking to throw a party that will give them enough happy memories to last for a lifetime.
My husband and I began wedding planning in March of 2020, right before we went into a state of emergency due to the pandemic. We booked with the Tundra the weekend the SOE went into effect. With the ever changing rules and regulations when it came to hotel openings, closings, max occupancy, etc. we were often left with questions of “is our wedding still possible”. The Tundra Lodge staff always made sure the answer was “yes, your day is possible”. This was such an important venue for us to have, because we wanted to make sure we could have a venue that could accommodate all of the families with younger children (even though all the friends our age ended up in the water park and arcade the most!)
Jamie, the director of catering, was always readily available to respond to emails, calls, and requests. She was extremely accommodating to anytime we wanted to tour, add things for our rehearsal and gift opening, as well as early check-ins for our guests. Words cannot express my gratitude towards her during these unprecedented times.
The morning of our wedding The Tundra Lodge was contacted by our bakers that faced a family emergency, and would not be able to deliver our deserts. Both Jamie and Jason, the general manager, came together to work with my husband on next steps. Jason went out of his way to make a trip to go get us cookies, cupcakes, and a cut cake. He made sure they were personalized the way we wanted. They both went above and beyond to make everything work. Our guests had nothing but great things to say about our deserts as well!
Our ceremony room was gorgeous, and once again, The Tundra did everything they could to ensure we could fit as many guests as they could within limits. The reception space was even better. They let us in at the times that we requested so we could start decorating early. Jamie, once again, was there again for us asking if we needed anything.
The food itself was to die for. Our guests often complimented things like the green beans and baked potatoes, saying they were the best they ever had.
During the reception the catering staff was absolutely amazing. They were so kind to all of our guests and nothing but good things were said about how fun and nice they were. Even towards the end of the night the bartender at Yukon Jacks came downstairs to ask if we’d like the bar open for guests after the wedding was over.
All in all, there was no other venue I would have wanted for such a special day. They really went above and beyond at all costs to make sure we were taken care of. This was a venue and staff that really put us and our happiness above everything, and that’s what every...
Read moreMy spouse planned this as a surprise trip. So I’m sharing my experience as someone going in with no expectations and having not have read any reviews prior to going.
The overall hotel is nice but is really ran down. They definitely need to spend some money on basic upkeep. Also, even though a building is ran down and old that is not an excuse for not keeping it clean. The building was dirty and desperately needs a deep cleaning.
The arcade was fun. They have quite a few games to choose from and the staff in there were friendly. A machine was out of tickets and the attendant came over immediately to fix it.
The waterpark is small and definitely is geared towards small children. However, we enjoyed the hot tub and lazy river. There is one concessions stand in the waterpark. One employee works there and he was gone half the time running to get food from the kitchen or going to get pizza from their restaurant. It doesn’t make any sense why they wouldn’t have someone run him stuff so the concessions stand can be open all the time. Just trying to get a drink was a pain because we kept having to run over trying to see when he was there. The pool floors were also dirty and it felt gross walking on them. Also there were ants in the pool….it’s Wisconsin and -15 degrees out….but yet they have ants in there. Probably from all the spilled drinks and floors not getting cleaned.
Then to top it all off after the waterpark closed at 8 we get back to our room and there is no water. So no flushing the toilet, showering, sink, etc. We called and they said a pipe had burst. I recognize that this is out of their control but it made for a very frustrating situation. Then we could hear loud noises that I’m unsure if they were people working on the pipes or what. At 1:30 AM we got up and left.
My husband called this morning and they did make things right and refunded us 100%. They are also looking into how to refund for the arcade since we had bought a bunch of tokens we didn’t get to use, but they are unsure if they can refund for that.
My opinion is drive the additional 2 hours to the Wisconsin Dells and spend the additional money for one of their waterparks. We’ve never had a negative experience at a waterpark...
