Thornton's Fine Jewelry — Local services in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

So I can finally post a review now that I have proposed! I can't say enough good about Christine and Thornton. I shopped at Shane company before I decided to look elsewhere due to Shane Co pushy, unprofessional sales staff. I read reviews from around Athens jewelry stores and decided here due to how many years they've been around. She sold me a diamond that was way less than the diamond I had chosen after showing me how it would look. She brought up the fact that a big diamond may not look right in a halo setting. That's how you know you're dealing with professionals who want you happy with your purchase. She guided me to want I wanted and needed to buy instead of selling me the most expensive diamond she could. We'll be getting the set and everything else made there. Went to have a battery on a watch replaced.

Watch was a snap back case, which always has some chance of minor scratches during popping the case back or pressing the case back on.

Watch came back with heavy tooling marks from where the back had been popped. ( so used steel instead of a hard plastic case back tool.)

And had scratches all over the case back from where it had been pressed back on.

As my watch was a 500 dollar tissot, I do not recommend this service, and as a watch collector I would suggest you take your business to someone who takes better care of your stuff.

I had to use a whole packet of cape cod, just to take the scratches out of the caseback. The tooling marks I don't think can ever be polished out as they are too deep.

I love going in to Chat with Christine and her family. Ive taken Items from my Mother's jewelry , Some of it from Germany during World War II, My Oma and Opa's jewelry also, curious to find out more about it, what the stones are. They take the time to make you feel like you are at The Right place. Ive been treated so kindly and Christine explains and gives me knowledge of what I have taken in to share with her to look at.
