Okay so all growing up the Athens county fairgrounds were decently priced at an affordable rate...the games weren't highly priced...for being the fair. The fair was really worth going to!! Even as I got older, I loved and looked forward to going. My husband is NOT the person who would even dare ride any ride, but he did however enjoy the fair and was starting to look forward to going each year...but that was when they had a decent amount of "adult" rides....as well as "kiddie" rides. What happened Athens county? Where is the slide that used to be free with a wrist band? Where is the dragon ride for the kids? Or how about the flying Bob ride for the adults? Or even the tea cups and the scrambler? What about zero gravity or the zipper? The Mary go round? Athens county fairgrounds have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars for what....jacked up admission prices and like 10 rides at the most? And not to mention, the games were sky rocketed and the carnies for both the rides and games were rood to all get out. There was more open land area than anything. I would have to say that this is by far the WORST year of the Athens county fairgrounds!! It's pretty sad when kids only 10 and 8 are more disappointed than...
Read moreIt's ok I suppose. My daughter is using this location to park her car for the semester. You get into the arena itself and then you have no idea where the main office is to get your parking pass is that you paid for. (It's at the top of the hill, overlooking the main road) Maybe have a bit more signage and direction. They had nobody working inside the building to help you either so anyone could be able to go inside and get passes I would assume. Eventually we got her pass and parked her car. Parking spots are a "park where you can find a spot" type of deal. No assigned spot. The bus that transports students is directly in front of the grounds, so that's a plus. There's also a store across the road. That's about all I can say for my...
Read moreI do not understand why some people give 5. I have lived in 5 states and been to 20 + county fairs, athens is the bottom of the list ... really really old equipment, no activities are good for kids, rude people and rude kids. (where are these people come from since I see rude people rarely in Athens Ohio). I have to give 1 star and hope they can get better in 2018. BTW, 2017 is worse...
