a few months ago I tried to drop off some clothing, tags still attached and a mostly new microwave. an irrate older lady told me to beat it. they weren't taking anymore items because people only drop off junk. a couple days ago I dropped off some items and they have a limit on what you can drop off "two small bags, no furniture." I typically like goodwill, however, athens goodwill does not have much inside for shopping. it's bizarre they won't take donations and are so choosy about what is donated. it's free stuff, they operate based on what people donate. maybe they just don't want to work. I'm not mad they don't want my personal donations but I wish they had a better selection inside the store for shopping. maybe they would if they accepted what people tried to donate. there are a couple of swap shops in town that I really like.
