Mr. Prnka, Thank you for giving us an opportunity to make an offer and see if we could help make better of this situation. Over the past couple of months we've spoken, and it's usually been very cordial. I've attempted to offer any assistance I could. Unfortunately, as we explained when you purchased your sofas and our warranty, the plan only covers accidental damage and the manufacturer covered their product for defects for 1 year. Taking into consideration you did not let us know you were having any issues until after four years, even saying this started two years ago, the manufacturer and the warranty company attributes that to wear and tear. All of our furniture manufacturers offer their own warranty, to ensure your product is free of defects, and sometimes we can get help briefly beyond that, but to expect them to take back their product after four years is unrealistic.
As we are in a customer based business, we want to hear from our customers when they may have any issues, but if we don't know, we can't help. We did make an offer to accommodate your dissatisfaction that would greatly offset your original purchase price, but unfortunately you did not find that a satisfactory solution. At this time, regrettably we are out of options. We value you, as well as all of Ivan Smith Furniture's customers, and hope that somewhere down the road you reconsider us. In the meantime we do thank you for your original purchase and hope that, although we couldn't meet your expectations, that at some point, you will reconsider.

The back was becoming detached, staple in the back of the leather, and no telling what other hidden defects there were. When I called the store manager to have it swapped out with a new one, he didn't want to replace it. After a few minutes, he agreed to replace it but I had to bring the bad one to the store or I had to pay for delivery of the new one. Yah...no. He proceeded to tell me about his parents buying a Toyota. No joke. Apparently, bad service from other companies is an excuse for his bad service? Only in Athens, Texas. Wow. I immediately called corporate and later that day received a call from the manager with a whole new attitude on the matter. I appreciate corporate and the district manager for resolving this issue. It shouldn't have taken a call to corporate though. Some really great guys from the warehouse in Emory delivered a new loveseat in good condition. Thank you. But... DO NOT buy from the store in Athens, Texas. People work hard for their purchases and deserve better customer service. Good customer service results in loyal, repeat customers. Tina took the time necessary to show us a few recliners that she thought we might enjoy. She was knowledgeable and even got the dimensions for us so we could make the best decision.
Likewise the delivery team kept us posted as to where they were and an approximate time of arrival. Brandon and his team were professional in putting the two recliners in an efficient amount of time and placed them where we wanted them The team then tested the chairs to make sure that the power unit for reclining worked and answered any questions we had.
