Judging by the mostly positive reviews I guess its just me but I found this place super underwhelming.
I am a runner and I am recovering from a stress fracture, so I was super excited when I was finally able to do some low impact exercise again midway through recovery.
The place is extremely small which would be fine if it was just a cycling studio, but they do have a concurrent barre (I think?) class in a tiny space across from the check-in so people for both classes arriving at the same time cram the place pretty quickly.
The front desk person was ok nice, not super welcoming, but not unfriendly either. He showed me the lockers and then pointed to the door of the cycling studio space and said when they are ready someone will help me set up the bike. No one ever came to help me set up the bike, but luckily I have previous indoor cycling experience so I didnt have an issue.
The bikes take some time to get used to, they are more cheaper bikes than what you are used to at most cycling studios or peloton etc. They dont have a resistance nob that you turn, but a lever, which is super sensitive and takes some time getting used to. Overall the bike just felt a bit unstable and flimsy.
The class itself was ok, the instructor was ok. Again, for someone who doesnt have any prior cycling experience, it would probably be difficult to follow because the instructor didnt explain the movements at all. Or what the numbers mean on the little screen on your bike like RPM, etc. But I guess you can just go ahead and do your own thing if you cant follow. The technology set up for the instructor seemed a bit elementary, in between songs she had to switch from one youtube video to another, which I found kind of annoying. Her microphone didnt seem to be working well over the music, so half the time you had to guess what she was saying.
I thought I would be out of shape from doing no cardio for four weeks, but I barely broke a sweat in this class, and I was in the top 5 of the leaderboard. I remember walking out of cyclebar or flywheel (RIP) drenched in sweat and feeling like I had a great workout.
Good news, compared to other cycling studios, this place is very affordable and they do not charge crazy amounts for a class like SoulCycle for instance.
Again - this is just my opinion. As with anything on the internet you can take it...
Read morePosting for my GF who came home extremely upset due to her experience with the front desk "help" for her first class. She doesn't post reviews, but I felt like the studio should know about her experience.
Tried to take a first class, never been to the studio. Front desk guy was super unhelpful and couldn't care less that I was a new customer and was having trouble signing up on my phone, even though I showed up early to get help with my first class. He kept telling me to be patient and that he had to help existing customers who already signed up, but by that time it was one minute before class and I didn't want to fumble around in the dark trying to figure out new a bike, so I just left the studio and most likely not coming back to give it another shot. Lost a potential customer I guess.
UPDATE: there weren’t many other spin options near us so she gave it another try. Not her favorite among all the others she’s tried though out years, but they all closed so it says something about vibe ride to still be around. Plus she said it’s gotten better, so updating from 1 star to 4 to be...
Read moreLove visiting the second location of this Atlanta based cycling (and now more!) studio. The staff are super helpful. I forgot my socks one day and was given a replacement pair (gratis)... game changer after what was already a rough day! Everything is kept clean and the bathrooms always seem well stocked. I've never used the shower facilities on site, but it's nice to know they are available. Especially for classes during prime hours, there are several staff walking around the cycling room to help new clients (or those of us that just can't adjust the handlebars solo...one day handlebars, one day) get their bikes set up. Something about the music videos just keeps me going! Very high energy playlists. I've never had an instructor I didn't like. I haven't yet tried the barre or TRX classes, but I intend to. Daryl is currently my fav instructor, his energy is just infectious but not obnoxious like some fitness gurus. He dances around the room between the bikes at least once per class and I LIVE FOR IT! Come check them out, you...
