This place is a muse. It convinced me to take my poetry and photography to a new level. This experience was art by design : The Monster in the Corner I walked into Republic Social House alone, A black man with a camera, a heart made of stone, Not by birth, but by the weight of the stares, The weight of the whispers that lingered in the air. I chose a table, absent of friends, January’s chill felt like it would never end. A Caesar salad, a Georgia peach to taste, But the sweetness soured, left bitter waste. The waiter, polite but cautious and light, Moved as if shadows dictated his flight. Did my presence disturb, my lens offend, That I’d see beauty in what they’d apprehend? The chef, an artist, her creation divine, Ignored my praise, my voice, my time. Yet her salad stood tall, a fleeting shrine, A work of care that wasn’t hers, but mine. The eyes around me burned like flames, Disgusted murmurs, untamed disdain. A black man alone—a threat, a fear, A monster hiding in the corner here. Was it my camera? Was it my skin? Or the solitude I carried within? For to sit alone in society’s glare, Is to carry the burden of being unfair. I took no guard, I posed no harm, But still, they gazed with silent alarm. A man, a monster, a shadow, a thief, No art could erase their disbelief. And so, Republic Social House remains, A place of judgment, of silent pain. Where even a Caesar and peach in hand, Can’t make a black man less contraban

Hubby and I love trying new places for date night Friday! After a quick google search we were on our way! The location is super convenient. Charles the host/server was an absolute joy! The food and drinks were amazing! We had the Orange Crush and the Ga Peach Mojito to start. For our appetizer we chose the fried green tomatoes. They were seasoned to perfection and delicious! We chose the salmon with lemon butter capers and green beans and the shrimp and grits! Everything was so beautifully presented and tasty! We finished with a chocolate brownie and ice cream. The food was well priced, the vibe was calm and inviting, and the experience was the best. Definitely put it on your list of “must try”!

One thing I know about Republic Social House is that they never miss the mark when it comes to flavoring the food. It was my third time there, but this time it was during weekday lunch. I left just 2 hours ago and I had to give a shout-out to the woman who was juggling all the roles during this time. I'm sorry for not catching your name if you see this! She was the hostess, bartender, barback, and server, and she might have even been the cook, lol. She was singlehandedly serving multiple groups of people and not once did she seem overwhelmed or annoyed. She was so pleasant that even if everything else had been terrible, I would still go back because of her overall calm demeanor.

Second time going to Republic house, I enjoyed myself the first time why I came back. Came again late last night, brought my boyfriend for late not outting for his birthday. Service was mediocre, server was rushing us, did not listen to our order correctly and gave us drinks ordered wrong when I mentioned it didn’t care fix it. Overcharged us for the drinks as well didn’t get the drinks asked for. Pressed us at the table about paying our check like we weren’t going to tip him even though he didn’t deserve it still tipped him over 25% because I work in the business as well I know how hard I work for tips. I accidentally left my work badge, I knew it was still here, because this was the last place I had seen it. Called soon as they opened, young lady answered the phone I asked her to look around see if she found a work badge, told her where I was. She swore up and down nothing was left rushed me off phone. Something told me to go up there, because my badge was there. Decided to finally go up there and where was my badge exactly where I said it was! So not only did young lady lie she didn’t care take the time to see if it was there, didn’t care. Customer service comes first and to not care for customer not cool. Called to complain to management and who answers the phone? The gay male who served us following night trying to act as manager and was VERY rude on the phone and I reminded him same person who we tipped very well last night speaking in such a nasty manner. Other words the workers don’t care about customer only care about getting money they don’t deserve. After this experience I will not be back. Do better if you want business. I always take care of my server or bartender anywhere I go so please take care of me as a...

I went to Republic Social House with some friends for brunch on a Saturday. I've recently heard about their $10 bottles of champagne, which is now $15, and wanted to try it out. It was pretty quiet when we walked in around 12 noon. We waited to be seated upstairs on the balcony for about 30-45 mins. As we waited we were able to order drinks. Once we were seated we had one of the nastiest waiters ever, Blake! It took him about 20 minutes to finally come over and take our orders. He was rude and very unresponsive once he finally took our orders. All of our food came out at different times in 20 minute increments. The two people whose food arrived first food got cold because they waited another 20-30 minutes just for Blake to bring the silverware, which should have already been on the table, but even if it wasn't it doesn't take 30 minutes to grab silverware. We spoke with the manager, Noelle, who was very sweet and took care of all of our needs. She reordered food that had gotten cold after waiting for silverware, she provided a free bottle of champagne for our troubles, and also discounted tickets for the individuals who were unhappy with the service. Thanks so much Noelle! Blake did finally bring silverware AFTER the manager had already taken care of it, and he threw the silverware on the table. Rude and unprofessional. Food: The shrimp and grits were a miss!! No flavor at all. Steak and eggs were pretty good. The seafood mac & cheese with the buffalo chicken was amazing!!!! And the chicken philly with queso was delicious. All in all the food was good, service was terrible,...

THE CAJUN PASTA IS MID NOW?!

I'm a long time Republic lover, so it hurts me to write this. I've ordered their Cajun Pasta dish for many years now — satisfied every single time until today. Let me rewind. I ordered pick up for the first time in a few months and, for the most part, everything was fine. And then POW!! I was asked "Do you want to add anything to that or would you just like the pasta?" JUST THE PASTA?? HUH??

I was told the Cajun Pasta dish price changed 2 months ago. Oh, but that wasn't all that changed...

Republic Cajun Pasta of the ol' days included chicken, shrimp and sausage and now I have to add the meats?? Fine. I get it. Inflation. But what crushed my soul was the fact that they changed the pasta sauce receipe. Essentially, it was a glorified, garlic-heavy tomato sauce! What happend to the wonderful blend of seasoning and spices?? Gone. My favorite dish has been dismembered and put back together worse than Frankenstein's uglier little brother, then sold at a 40% markup. Devastating. Look what they did to MY BOYY!!

The overall dish I give a 2 out of 5 stars. It used to be a New Orleans party in your mouth and now?? It's anything but. Bland, no depth and overally reliant on garlic to carry the flavor. For $8 more, I got three small pieces of chicken and three shrimp. Not worthy of the price AT ALL. I would avoid the dish altogether.

I hope Republic can recreate that original pasta sauce again becuase it was heavenly. I still love you, Republic, but don't do your loyal...
