UPDATE: after posting the below review Infinity contacted me and offered me a complimentary tune-up on my AC systems. They showed up on time and at the correct house this time. The work seemed to be well done, and the techs were friendly and knowledgeable. I asked for a quote on possible replacement of some AC systems and the tech responsible for providing quotes came out within an hour and provided a very comprehensive assessment of my systems and a solid quote. I have still not decided to proceed with a system replacement but if I do, I will likely use Infinity. I'm changing the review to 4 stars on the basis of the interaction I had but still deducting a star for the treatment I received below.
ORIGINAL REVIEW
I originally got a quote from Infinity about 2 years ago to replace a faulty AC unit in my previous house. I went another route, but apparently they kept my information and called me 2 months ago to offer an "AC tune-up and water heater flush" for $49. When I asked what the technicians would do on the tune-up, the salesman had no idea. He was embarrassed when I asked the question but told me he would have a technician call or email me with the details that day or the next. I agreed to book the service, and the salesman took down my new address. They were about three weeks out on appointments, so we set the date for June 6th between 11am and 1pm. I received no email or follow-up on the details of the service as promised. This should have been a red flag, but I didn't think much of it. I figured I could ask the technician when he arrived.
On June 6th I took off work to be home for the service. At 1:15pm no one had arrived or called so I contacted Infinity. The scheduler informed me that the technician had gone to my house, and no one was there. After some checking we realized they had gone to my old address and when I was not there simply left. They did not contact me in any way nor would they have if I had not called. I explained that I took the day off and was home, they could just add me to the route at the end of that day. The answer was no they cannot do that, even though they went to the wrong address and could reschedule me for June 20th at best. I had taken off work that day and was not about to give them another three weeks and take another day off for a company that was not willing to admit they made a mistake and do their best (anything) to make it right. I was obviously upset and asked for a manager or the owner. When this was denied, I asked for a callback from a manger or owner and was told they would call that day or the next. As of 11 days later I have not received any contact from them and decided to write this review.
The bottom line is I have heard good things about this company, but I will never now because their poor customer service didn't allow me to find out. I was hoping to get a quote on replacing two of the old units and ducts at my house that are on their last legs, but not anymore. This and the likely $20k+ in business that would have brought them will go to another company, one which respects my time. If you are looking for Air Conditioning needs in the greater Memphis area, my opinion is that you look somewhere besides Infinity Heating and Air...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNew review from Terry Fear (for service call on 10/15/25): Clayton and Austin came out to fix an issue with the on/auto thermostat. With the original, as received, fan speed setting on the new furnace motor, in the on position it would barely blow any air. After making adjustments to the motor/fan speed it seems to work fine now. Good job! Thanks to both techs for taking care of our issue.
New Review from Terry Fear (10/29/2025): I recently had a new Trane furnace installed and whenever the fan motor came on a humming noise would come through the wall in the master bedroom. This never happened with the Goodman furnace motor in 18 years. I was perplexed and it was pretty annoying at night while trying to sleep. Infinity sent Cory out to figure out what the problem was. He first did all the checks on the furnace and motor and it did not fix the issue. When I told him I would put a card table up on a chair to block the noise, he immediately knew what the problem was. He proceeded to adjust the fins on the return vent, at the bottom of the wall, to allow more air flow through the return. It instantly fixed the problem and the noise went away. Thank goodness for Cory. He is a great technician, and well deserving of this praise. I will continue to only use the services of Infinity. You made my day, thanks.
Since last year I had gone through 4 or 5 different AC repair companies trying to figure out why our 12 year old Goodman downstairs unit was freezing up. They either gave me a blank stare, or tried a few simple things that didn't work , and then gave up. When I talked to Jimmy at Infinity, right away I felt confident he and his people could help me.
Jimmy's first tech (B. Helm) went through all of the possible causes and ended up spending several hours with the diagnosis of a bad evaporator coil. Since he couldn't resolve my issue on the spot, he only charged me for the initial service call of $69. I thought that was pretty decent since all the other companies seemed to be gouging for doing practically nothing.
Evaporator coils are really expensive, so we had to choose between replacing it or going with a new unit. We keep our house really cool (approx. 64-65 deg) and I was worried about going to a new Trane with R410a. I had talked to a lot of people who said we couldn't get down below 67 or 68 with R410a. Jimmy had a pretty good solution in mind. He said we could upgrade from a 3.5 ton to a 4 ton and replace one of the air ducts with a 14" dia (currently 10") and that would give us additional cooling with necessary air flow. I thought that was a really good idea and we went for it.
The two techs Jimmy sent (Michael and Shay) were very courteous and did an excellent job. This was done at the end of March and so far we are very happy with the results. Jimmy takes good care of his customers and he and his people really know what they're doing. Sorry this is so long, however, since there are so many AC companies that either don't know what they are doing, or they are trying to rip you off, I felt it was necessary to make more people aware of this really good company.
We gladly give Infinity 5 STARS. Thanks a lot for the good job and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis old house had a 30 year old package unit that had seen it's last days. Animals had snuck under the house over the years and broken many parts of the duct system and lived there without paying rent. :)
Allen inspected it all and gave me a quote. Replacing the package unit with a unit properly sized for the house, tear out of the old duct system and installing new. Replace wiring to the thermostat and installing new.
All the ducting is in a crawl space under the house, where there is not much room to move. The old ducting had little insulation and were all fitted joints. It's a wonder I had any cooling at all. There was no doubt in my mind after Allen explained the issues he found, the duct system needed replacing.
When the day arrived for the work to be done, the crew arrived early, Allen called before they started, asking if it was alright if they could begin. In all, renovation took 2.5 days and I had working A/C by the end of the second day. His crew worked very hard and was minimally intrusive, very respectful and cleaned up afterward.
Each day the workmen arrived on time and Allen was often around filling me in on the status if I asked. I could not have asked for better service or a more capable crew. I've had contractors work on my house before. This was not that experience.
Big jobs can have problems and when the A/C was on again I did find a problem. I talked to the foreman about it, and they knew just what I was talking about. Since it was end of day they promised to be out the next day and fix the problem. By now I shouldn't have to tell you they arrived first thing in the morning and the issue was promptly corrected.
Allen came out a few hours later, checked that everything was well, asked me if I'd had any trouble, we shook hands and the rest is up to the future. At no time did I find any aspect of working with Infinity Heating and Air a problem. They answered every question I had in a timely manner, I talked to Molli on the phone, she was very polite and scheduled the inspection for Allen to come out as soon as they could.
I have no doubt this heating and cooling system will keep my home comfortable for many years to come. If you need the services this company provides, I do not think you will disappointed in what they do.
Thank...
