Blatant scam and dishonest business practices.
I got sick after eating the elephant ears and spent the entire night vomiting. On top of that, I had an incredibly frustrating experience with the ride wristbands.
I purchased a wristband at 4:00 PM that was advertised as valid for unlimited rides. Just one hour later, at 5:00 PM, staff told me the wristband was no longer valid unless I paid again—because the price had been raised from $20 to $50. I was shocked. I had just bought the band, and suddenly I was being told it no longer counted.
That is a blatant bait-and-switch. I paid for unlimited rides, and they tried to invalidate my purchase after the fact to squeeze more money out of me. This kind of dishonest pricing and treatment of customers is completely unacceptable.

It is also remarkably close to downtown activities. That said, the parking was not good and the lack of golf carts made it difficult for older people (many of us) and it was cumbersome to move large purchases. I bought a 42 inch porcelain sign and was lucky that it was in a ring so that I could roll it without damage. Further, after a 40 minute search, I found a good parking spot. While I did not use the shuttle to and from the Auburn Drive parking area, I overheard some saying that it was slow and not frequent enough. A great event that I hope...
Read moreI love the fair and the entertainment. But one thing that I've found is it's crazy rediculous to pay $5.00 to park somewhere else that's not fair related. When you have business to do at the courthouse, the streets are blocked off and we have no choice, but to park in a lot that's for fair parking. It's totally down right wrong and little greedy if you ask me. You need to leave some parking lots open for the courthouse saying courthouse parking only. It doesn't have to be by the courthouse obviously. But it needs to...
