The bride and I were "starving" as we hadn't eaten all day, and it was getting late. An hour from home, we were passing all the typical fast food joints because we were hoping for a family diner, heck even Denny's. Everything else was closed or closing at 8 pm... we saw this place the neon pig that read BBQ and decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did! We went in and were seated. Our server was pleasant and attentive even though they were closing as well. (9pm) We weren't hurried. We both opted for the brisket sandwich with fries (mine were beer battered, and hers were seasoned) and a house salad. They were out of Blue Moon, so we opted for the 805, no biggie. The salad was cold and crisp, on average portions, and a good amount of croutons. The fries were good and cooked just right! I did like her seasoned fries a bit more than mine. Now the big deal here is the sandwich! A good portion of meat that was tender and jucy and had a great smokey flavor that wasn't overpowering, the tad of sauce they added didn't detract from the flavor. it was served on a soft French roll, I believe, and was buttered and grilled to a nice light crisp...not hard at all! They have and give plenty of sauce, if drowned is your thing. For me, it usually is because I can't seem to find good Q perfection anywhere in cali anymore. Except my own. This was a welcome exception! Hat's off to the pittmaster! prices were reasonable and better than most for BBQ. I'd say a good value. We're going to come back and try the ribs... that's the real test. Overall, this last-minute decision to stop, late nite- on their way to closing BBQ joint, was a great experience. The only negative is that I wish they'd keep the doors open til 10 pm. They'd corner the market cause this town closes down like a southern dry county on Sunday. That seems to be...
Read moreThis was our first time and last time eating at Sierra Grill. We decided to try the restaurant. I am a busy person & don’t have time to post reviews, but feel obliged to share our meal experience. This was the worse BBQ I had ever tasted in my life. Scratch that, this was the worse meal I have ever had in my life. The service was great, up until the waitress asked how we liked our meal. I very politely told her that it was the worse BBQ I had ever had. She had this shocked look on her face and said, “Really”, then asked if I wanted a box? The corn bread was a flavorless corn muffin. The garlic mash potatoes tasted like instant mash potatoes, sprinkled with garlic salt. The meat was heavy on the BBQ sauce, which tasted like a sugared down Kraft BBQ sauce. The smoked beer can chicken had no flavor and was uncooked in the middle? After dropping off the check, we never saw the waitress again. The folder with the bill was duct taped together and no place to put our visa card. Another waitress had to ask if we were done so she could pick up the bill. We shook our head yes. I thought about speaking to the management, but were so disgusted at that point, we just left. We spent a lot more at Lucille's BBQ, but at least the food was edible. The sad part is that the ribs were tender, but buried in the a BBQ sauce that tasted like Ketsup, Tobasco & sugar. My husband ordered the Pulled Pork, which came in a mound of shredded pork on a plate, no bread or roll. It was also tender & nicely smoked, but doused in bland, tasteless BBQ sauce. I'm still shaking my head in disbelief that nobody came to our table to see why we were unhappy with the meal or what could be...
