Cute little town! I stopped here last week on my way down from Tahoe and there are so many little shops. My boyfriend and I spent the day in this town and it’s pretty amazing. We went hiking a few miles away, and the views are absolutely incredible. Had breakfast at Edelweiss (omelette was amazing) and it was fantastic, old feel with great food. Walked all through Downtown and Old Town. The places we went to were The Foot Path (bought a pair of shoes), Auburn Running Company, Ropers Jewelers, Auburn Old Town Gallery, Vintage Redeemed, Footprints Boutique and Thrift, Wattswerks Optical (got my sunglasses adjusted), the Man Cave, Winston Smith Books (bought a few books), and everywhere else we could think of. We went to eat at the sushi restaurant Hanami Sushi for dinner, dessert at Tango Yogurt, explored the museums: Placer County Museum, Gold Rush, Dewitt, Bernhard, and Joss House. Read moreOld town was fun to walk around and see. My room at powers mansion was a 12 min walk there and 12 min back. They had a restraunt brewery in old town called the Auburn ale house I think. I wanted to go there and drink and eat but they had no taxi or uber to give me a ride. I knew I would be to hammered to stumble back on a 12 min walk..so I didn't get to go.. I went 186ft from my room to the beer garden and stumbled back...

During the Festival of Lights, we enjoy walking from downtown to old town. Great place to come. Auburn is a hidden gem. We hope it stays this way because there’s not many places...
