Iām new to the Augusta area and was really excited to find such a well-stocked, peaceful Dillardās store. Unlike the chaos at Sephora, Dillardās has been a relaxing place to shop, especially at the perfume counter, where Iāve had a couple of lovely experiences with friendly, knowledgeable staff. My husband and I even spent around $250 on perfumes during one visit, and I left feeling genuinely happy with the service.
However, that changed during a follow-up visit on Fatherās Day weekend. One of the perfumes I purchased had a defective nozzle. It leaked and sprayed unevenly. I returned to the store not to demand a refund or exchange, but simply to ask if they could help fix the spray or offer a solution. I didnāt have the receipt or box, and I made it clear that I wasnāt expecting a return. I just didnāt want to waste the product.
While the original associate who helped me remained kind and professional, the manager at the counter handled the situation poorly. She wasnāt overtly rude, but she spoke to me in a patronizing tone and seemed to assume I was trying to get a refund or pull something. She even suggested I "spread the leaking perfume on my skin", which was honestly frustrating, considering I like to apply perfume to my clothes and didnāt appreciate the mess.
To make things worse, when I asked for a recommendation for a new fragrance, she suggested something completely off from what I described. When I didnāt like it, her willingness to help me disappeared, and I felt pushed out of the store. Even my husband noticed and asked why I was being spoken to like a child.
We had just spent $150 on his cologne and were ready to purchase more, but the whole interaction soured the experience. Itās unfortunate, this could have been our go-to fragrance counter in Augusta, but we havenāt returned since. With Labor Day weekend coming up and a commission check to spend, weāll be shopping at Macyās, Sephora, or even Victoriaās Secret instead.
Dillardās, if you want to retain loyal customers, I suggest training your managers to listen more and assume less. A little respect...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMmk so I'm not a mall shopper, but I needed new shirts and decided to try something new.
Y'all I've been missing out?! I believe her name is Ms. Althea, she was so incredibly helpful to me in finding shirts I liked. Most importantly - whether she knew it or not, her service made me feel like I belonged right there in that department. Clothes shopping as a queer person in the south can be a mixed bag, but she didn't bat an eyelash and helped me find a couple of fantastic shirts - marked down even!
I also received fantastic service in the intimates department - I wish I'd gotten her name - where despite not making a purchase, the associate engaged with me about the products and taught me more about what I was shopping for, without diminishing my experience or making me feel silly for not knowing. It was a validating experience for me.
They were both just so incredibly kind that now any time I need clothes... I'm coming back to Dillards FIRST. Thank you so much ladies for your stellar customer service, you are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I returned a purse. The Sales Associate was very friendly and processed the return without a problem. I didn't leave empty hand thoš The Atmosphere in the store is so friendly. Everyone has a smile on their face, asking us how we were doing. We also stopped in the cologne section and the young man there helped us,pick a new cologne for my husband. We went to the jewelry section and the young Lady there was dealing with a couple of very difficult customers, never loosing her cool. So we browsed around, until we seen, she was free. She had a smile on her face, never uttered a word about the previous customers and helped me find 2 beautiful bangles. Let me also add that the temperature in the store was perfect. It is getting hot outside and to walk in and feel instantly comfortable, was refreshing. Thanks to everyone ,who worked last sunday,June 8thš I hope managment reads these reviews and recognizes that they have some awesome employees, who represent their brand VERY WELL and deserve to...
