Let me set the scene: Walked in—empty. Just me, the barber, and my hopes for a clean cut. Ten minutes later, out of nowhere, the NPC script gets activated. Suddenly, the barbershop fills up like it’s Black Friday at the Dollar Store, but the talent never showed up.

Told the guy, “Just a taper fade, please.” He heard, “Surprise me with a $5 cut for $40.” My hairline folded, my fade vanished, and by the end, I looked like I got lined up by a Roomba on low battery.

To top it off, the dude hits me with the most basic NPC small talk and acts like he’s doing open heart surgery with the clippers. By the time I left, my confidence was down, my wallet was empty, and my hairline still buffering.

I've been coming here for over 10 years and regret having to post a review. Why? B/c I hate how after the secret is out, everyone in Austin swamps a business and you can never go back to the times when you could just walk-in for a quick cut. That said, I know this barber shop has fallen on rough times due to COVID. Their client base is a fraction of what it was and the last thing I want is for them to shut down. They've had to slightly raise prices to keep open. So the review? You like a no frills, old school barber shop? None of the stupid gimmicks or trendy junk? Want a good quality, haircut? Well this is the place. There aren't many left in Austin like this and the staff is caring and kind. I've brought my kids with me since shortly after their births. They care about them and always want to know how they've been doing. I love these folks and want them to have a place in Austin...

I got a haircut with a friend awhile back and we can here to get cuts, and posh places no matter how hip or cool are they always mess up. This place heard how I wanted my hair and nodded and cut it exactly perfect with almost no touch ups need. They added the shave trim, trimmed my eyebrows without saying a word, nice little neck massage and some karate chops on the shoulder, with a light style on my hair, just the right amount of small talk.
