First off let me start by saying if I could give a zero to this company I would. I bought furniture from Buddy’s 10 years ago and had zero issues. This February I went to purchase a bedroom set and spoke with Augustin who told me that I had to make a down payment which came to almost $500 and I would have to make bi-weekly payments and my furniture would arrive in 4-6 weeks. During this time I called Buddy’s to see when I would be signing my contract and how much my payments were going to be. I was told by Miguel that I wouldn’t have to make payments or sign a contract until my furniture arrived which should arrive by mid- March. When mid-March arrives I get a text for payment so I called to see if my furniture was in. I was told by Augustin that my furniture wasn’t in and he didn’t know when it would be in but I needed to start making payments. When questioning why I was told the opposite he stated “If you don’t have the money just say that.” I politely told him to get me a manger because I wasn’t going to continue talking to him. He has Miguel call me back and he states he’s the one who told me i didn’t need to make any payments until my furniture arrived but he couldn’t say when that would be. Another month goes by and George the new manager calls me asking for payment. I explained what I discussed with Miguel and how at this point since no one could give me an update on when or if I would receive my furniture that I wasn’t making a payment. George then calls me back to ask what furniture I ordered because there was nothing indicating what I ordered. I sent him screenshots and he stated it would be ordered. After deciding that I didn’t want to do business this way I called Buddy’s on 4/30 and again spoke with Augustine and requested a refund. He told me a manager would call me that following week. I then get a text from George 3 weeks later stating my furniture is in. I explained that I didn’t care and wanted my refund still. George tells me only Tommy can approve this. I communicated with Tommy yesterday and he said someone would bring me a refund today between 10-11am. No one has shown up or called. I called Tommy and no surprise but no one has called me back! Read moreThis company has completely gone down. We been dealing with them well over 10 years ( Back when they were named Easy Homes) The last 3 items we paid off with receipt paid in full. We were harassed for over 3 months getting calls asking when will we be making our payment, and each time we had to tell them we’re paid in full. (Huge warning flag) So without the my spouse approval I used Buddy’s one more time to buy a refrigerator right during the pandemic 2 years ago around October for the holidays. Well that never happened I was giving 2 refrigerators that was something I prefer not to even send you through the nightmare. Mind you It wasn’t those 2 I had requested out of their catalog. I didn’t receive that one until late January 2020 after the holidays. Still making payments each month as if I had my refrigerator.
Now to the present I have been diagnosed with stage 2 cancer. Been in and out hospital going 3 months now. Fell behind on my payments by 2 weeks. Buddy’s have been ruthless to me. Augustine came to my job the day that I returned back to work.Once he seen how sick I was he said he was willing to work with me, but at the same time threatening to take the refrigerator. But today was the final straw that broke the camel’s back. I was at work which we can’t have our phones on and I receive a long text message stating that Buddy’s will be filing charges on me for theft. I called and trying to explain my situation for the 3rd time. Augustine told me that being terminally ill doesn’t release me from my obligation. Everyone else is so nice and easy to talk with, today I called and spoke with DAVID ( he lied about his name he is the collection person there) I put all caps because today he hung up on me numerous of times, he also told me “you need help” & “you need to find god” after I asked him why he is charging my card 2times the payment (and that’s against their policies) ! I have never in my life been spoken to this way. I don’t know why he works there if he can speak to people this way!! I never want to do business with you all again! His attitude is just nasty, nasty, nasty and will run other customers right out that door. All I did was try to update my information and see why he was trying to over charge me. Instead I get told I need help and not in a good way! As well as he answers and hangs up after yelling “I have nothing for you” I am beyond upset and no one seem to care as they just say “we will call you back ” if your looking for trash customer service this is the place and he is for you!
