This is a humongous store. First time I was ever in an HEB and let me tell you it was a wonderful experience. The reason I had to go to HEB is because I was previously at a Walmart on lake Creek Drive in Austin, Texas and I did about $45 worth of shopping at Walmart and when I got up to the register and tried to pay with my Google wallet and debit card Walmart did not accept it and I had no other way to pay. So I apologize to the clerk guarding the self-checkouts at Walmart and told her she'd have to put the stuff away and I had Frozen items along with milk in my cart and I left and I thought I wonder if HEB would accept my Google wallet so I drove not too far away to HEB on Anderson Mill road in Austin, Texas and I put everything in my cart that I had previously tried to buy at Walmart. Many of the items were much cheaper than Walmart and my fruit was a much better quality and cheaper price than Walmart. Along with the other items that I bought at HEB, we're cheaper and more quantity than what I had picked out at Walmart. The store was very clean, very stocked and good selection. A very wide selection of each item. I truly enjoyed it. I will be returning to this HEB to do my grocery shopping in the future. I went back in there the next day because I had to pick up a prescription that my dentist had sent over and I had to wait a little bit while they processed it. And while I was waiting there was a little old lady offering samples of this wonderful Mexican dish along with the sweet little cookies and a little taste of white wine. And she was so pleasant to talk to. So fun to talk to! I don't remember the items exactly but they were all wonderful. The cookies were HEB brand. They were little like Ginger snap, cinnamon things and the little dish she cooking was a Mexican dish guy that was quite yummy and reasonably priced and the wine was only $12 a bottle and it was very tasty. I like HEB a lot and they do have my business for life being an old retired veteran that I am from the Air Force. Amen for HEB. They won me over on their...
Read moreIf it were possible to give more than 5 stars, I would! On Saturday, December 1, 2018, my husband and I went to the HEB at this location on 620 and Anderson Mill to purchase a few groceries and scout out grills that my husband has been DYING for (good grief, him and his grills). Anyway, we went through the self checkout and asked the store associate for more information on how to possibly purchase said grill (the one he ultimately decided was the ONE at your HEB). The process was pretty simple and when we completed our purchase, the HEAVY grill had to be loaded onto our truck. Since my husband and I are both disabled veterans, we asked for assistance in the loading process. As soon as the store associate radioed for assistance, there were at least 10 other associates running up to the front of the store to assist us in our need. Everyone was excited to help out and when the grill was loaded, I expressed a concern that my husband and I would not be able to unload on our own. I asked the associates if there was any way possible for them to follow us down the road 10 minutes to help us offload. They were actually excited at the prospect of doing this for us and when they received permission, we were on our way!! They followed us, offloaded the heavy-**s grill, and were on their way back to work. They were all so professional, helpful, friendly and refused a tip or any monetary compensation for their efforts. They just seemed like they really wanted to help. From a couple of disabled veterans, we would like to say THANK YOU to: Devon, Akon (and your HUMMER), Frank, Chris and all of the other associates willing to help for your outstanding help and assistance to a couple of broke down veterans/grandparents. You...
Read moreVery disappointed in my experience this morning! I went to buy flowers and happened to pick one that didnât have a barcode to scan on (I was not aware of this until I went to the self checkout) so I turned to the person working - Jordan - and they said âuhh is there someone in the floral department youâll have to go over there and ask them because I canât key it in for youâ, didnât offer to call someone over for me, nothing. So I walk back to the floral department and approached one of the 2 ladies working there, told her what happened and instead of offering to get me checked out there or going to a different register with me or literally anything, she said âoh you can just grab another one or you can have them punch in the code itâs 1234â mind you flowers are not cheap and I picked the one I wanted to purchase, I didnât want to just chose another one. So with the same flowers in hand I walked to an actual register and figured they could type it in there. Nope, Frances, the cashier, abruptly gave me the flowers and repeatedly said âI canât take this, I canât take this, it needs a bar code, etcâŚâ I told him what the floral ladies had told me and he continued to pretty much argue with me and he just handed them to me and left me to figure it out for myself. Eventually I just had to suck it up and pick a different one because at this point no one was willing to provide customer service this morning! As someone who works in customer service and has worked at heb before, the way not one single person was willing to do a little extra and make sure I got the flowers I wanted to purchase, I so disappointed. Out of 3 people not one of them could...
