We went yesterdy to check it out, our office was looking for a location for a farewell party for our interns. The server/bartender was surly, unprofessional and not courteous.
I was shocked. I was served with a dirty glass, she rolled her eyes when I asked for a glass of ice and a bar napkin. I went to the counter to find out what the problem was , she touched her hair and then the around the rim of the can I asked for. This lady told me I had to take the glass and can to the table myself, I politely declined and told her I wasn't a server and she said "neither am I", to which I responded "Ok, but I don't work here" so she walked away huffing and puffing. The main message was that I wasn't welcome to be there as a customer.
I asked for a new can of beer because the one she had rubbed her fingers on the rim after touching her hair felt a little unhygenic and she told me that was rude of me to say. I stood there and said I understand, but please wash your hands and then please get me another beer.
I asked for contact information for a manager, this woman said she was the manager. I think our skin colour and race was part of the rason we were treated poorly. What a shame, to have a business license there is an expectation that you serve all the public. My fellow African American friend and I didn't feel welcome nor were we served with professionalism and decorum.
Clearly this isn't the type of institution that cares about things like form, manners, and the cleanliness of glasses and their work area. We have decided to cross off this location as an option for our "End of Internship Ping Pong Bash". Many of our interns are people of colour and I'd hate to see them treated in the same way. I am experienced, I can take it but I don't want these 21, 22 and 23 year olds to be mistreated.

Read moreI will not be going back. Foreword: my problem is with bar policy, not that the service is great or anything. This place is a pool hall and Packer bar. I am a league pool player and Packer fan. You would then think that this would be the perfect bar for me. I used to think so as well. I spent from about 6-11pm here on 10/27 playing pool and watching the Packers game. I paid for pool, drinks, and food. The place was a bit dead so they only had two bartenders at a time. It took a while to get service but the staff was polite and did their job so Im not one to complain on that front. My complaint: I realized after I drove all the way to south Austin that I had left my tab open. Earlier in the night they had voided my tab for some unexplained reason- probably because one of the bartenders was reassigned to the other Shooters locations. Anyway, after getting home I called in to let them know I left my card and my tab open and asked them to close it since I was trying to avoid the 15% gratuity. The person who picked up the phone told me that it was actually a 20% gratuity and that they would charge it anyway. I couldve paid the 20%. It would’ve come out to like $10 probably. But out of principle I drove all the way from south Austin back up north to get my card and close out my tab. I find it kind of insulting that even after I reached out to close out my tab and request that they hold my card for me, that they would charge me on top of that against my wishes. Love playing pool. Love the Packers. It’s a real shame I wont be coming back.
Edit: that all said, the pool tables and cues are good quality and in good condition. Still not going back
Edit #2: the owner replied and I cant reply back. They imply that I dont tip. I tip cash, thank...
Read moreShooters is hands down one of the best bar and pool hall spots around. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between laid-back and lively — great music, plenty of TVs for sports, and enough pool tables to keep everyone entertained without feeling crowded. Whether you’re coming in to shoot a few racks with friends or just unwind after a long day, Shooters has the kind of welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay for hours.
The drinks are top-notch and reasonably priced, but what really makes the experience stand out is the service. Tori, the bartender, is absolutely incredible — friendly, fast, and always on top of things even when the place is packed. She remembers faces, makes great recommendations, and pours with care. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does, which adds so much to the overall vibe of the bar.
Between the solid drink menu, the great pool tables, and Tori’s outstanding hospitality, Shooters has become my go-to spot. It’s rare to find a place that delivers consistently good service and a fun atmosphere every time, but this place nails it. Whether you’re a regular or just stopping by for the first time, you’ll leave already planning...
