Not an accommodating parlor.
It was my first cold stone creamery experience and the cookie dough flavor was too sweet, but I wasn’t expecting it to be that way. I took a bite of the cone and a spoonful of the ice cream after I headed out and when I came back typically ice cream parlors can give you a different flavor at no cost but this parlor doesn’t do that.
I’d understand more if I had finished the ice cream and then complained, but I only had a bite. I truly wasn’t expecting it to be that sweet it hurt my stomach. Staff was nice, but there should be something in place if a flavor wasn’t expected to be a certain way. It’s such a common flavor that I didn’t feel the need to taste it before I bought. Read moreThere are several Cold Stone Creamery branches around the Austin area including this branch on Hwy 183 in the same shopping complex carpark as the Austin Aquarium. They have indoor seating and a couple outside tables as well. Otherwise, you can always do take-away. Opening hours are 11am to 10pm daily.
Cold Stone specialises in homemade ice-cream daily. It is comprised of 12-14% butterfat which makes it rather creamy. Ice-cream is mixed with toppings and sauces on a frozen granite stone slab before being served in cup or cone. They have signatures or you can custom order.
