Labcorp — Local services in Austin

Don't take your kid here! My sons first lab draw ever was at this location(Barbara Jordan)and it was terrible. The lady dug around in his arm to find the vein leaving a nasty bruise that lasted a week. Since then, my son has been terrified of getting lab tests done. On top of that, I received a bill when he has insurance. I called lab corp and they tell me insurance is invalid even though he does have insurance. They tell me I need to contact my insurance to fix this. So after customer service from my sons insurance calls lab corp, I'm told this will get resolved. His lab test was done February of this year. Now I get a bill again in November because they didn't take care of it. So I call LabCorp again and the lady was very short with me saying it's invalid and not helpful at all. Now I have to call my insurance again. Please don't go here. There are other places way better than this one.

Update April 2025: I take my son to LabCorp Cedar Park in July 2024 because the people there are excellent with kids. Unfortunately now I receive info nearly 9 months later that they have wrong insurance listed. I made the mistake of calling LabCorp today hoping customer service might have improved. Nope. They can't help me and I need to contact my insurance to contact them to sort this out. Why LabCorp can't call themselves, I'll never know. My insurance told me Quest Diagnostics is better. Even they know all the complaints they get...

I was debating reviewing this place or not, but the lack of care in a healthcare setting I experienced is not acceptable. Many people have medical trauma, and it’s important to be mindful of this if this is your job.

I informed the woman at the front desk that I can be a difficult stick due to rolling veins and would like someone experienced (seriously, Ive had some traumatic blood draws). She ignored me, so I asked if she heard me. She laughed instead of being reassuring and when I expressed concern that I was being dismissed when advocating for myself she continued to chuckle. I almost got up and left but decided to grin and bear it!

I already was dealing with some frustrations - not all caused by labcorp (lab order wasn’t sent, the TV was incredibly loud, parking costs money and I’d already waited for over an hour). A little respect and kindness from the front desk woman would have gone a long way.

I asked the phlebotomist to use warmth to prep my veins but she didn’t hear me and I didn’t want a repeat of the above situation, so I didn’t say anything. A little bit of digging around from her and the vials were finished. I feel fortunate this was a small order, as things could have gone very differently if i needed more drawn.

I guess I wish caring people went into healthcare roles. I’ll just avoid this location...

I hardly leave reviews let alone bad ones but this place is so unprofessional. I showed up to get lab work done at this location I sent the girl my lab order by email which was 2 pages.. well once in the back & get blood drawn I notice the guy drawing my blood only had the 1st page so I asked if it included my vitamin D which would’ve been on the second page he says he only has the 1st page since that’s all he was given. He ends up talking to another girl and she comes in to help out and both end up telling me I’m good to leave. I had a feeling they had messed up somewhere and I was right. Not even 5 min later I get a call as I’m leaving asking me to come back cause I needed more blood drawn after all. So I go back he ends up apologizing and I leave. Well today I show up to my appt with my doctor and there is no lab work. So I went to my doctors appt just to sit there & look dumb. I wasted my gas and time once again. Definitely not coming here ever again save...
