Not typically one to review, but after years of remarkable service, this is way overdue. My wife has lived in Austin for 25 years, orders flowers for clients and friends regularly, has likely used every, or almost every, local florist in town and has arrived at the point where she ONLY uses Mercedes.
So it follows that that is how I found 'em :). I'm not a flower guy. Like them. Just don't get the big deal. That said, I can absolutely tell the difference in quality and presentation when comparing arrangements from Mercedes to those from other shops. You pay a bit more, but the value added substantially outweighs the incremental cost.
Worth noting, too: multiple instances of some of the best customer I've ever experienced. More than once, when I've had a special request or short notice order, the owner has made it happen and then followed through with a phone call/text to give me an update or let me know that the job was complete.
And I know that it's entering the mainstream after Amazon began doing it with their package delivery, but I think Mercedes Flowers was one of the first small businesses to take a picture of the delivered arrangement and email/text it to you right as it arrived. Peace of mind knowing that/when it got there and exactly what it looks like. This business was ahead of the curve and it goes to demonstrate where the owner's head is at when it comes to customer service.
All in all, Mercedes Flowers sets the bar when it comes to a well-run, customer-centric family business. Keep it up,...
Read moreI will be really honest about my experience with Mercedes flowers. Fiirst i am only human and waited till the last minute to try to oder a special dozen of roses for my Girlfriend. I was looking everywhere for a company that would take my last minute request so late in the day on Thursday before Valentine's day. I honestly thought i had missed the window after calling around and finding out that no one would make this happen for me. That is until I saw Mercedes flowers. Not only did they take my last minute request but they also delivered an Amazing dozen of roses with the best quality of roses that me has a Man had ever seen. The vase and arrangement were stunning. But the roses were (MIND BLOWING) on how beautiful the condition they were in.and fully opened and the glow they showed. They really made my Girlfriend tell me that these roses were trully so special and amazing in how they looked. Not only did they save me on my mistake but truly went above and beyond what most companies promise of so many orders taken. They treated me and deliveresd has i was the only one that matter. I have finally found the only floral company moving forward thet i can honestly say truly delivers what they promise. I will only use Mercedes flowers for evrything moving forward. GREAT JOB WELL DONE. Oh by the way my Valentine's day turned out to be one of the best...
Read moreI came here to write a review yesterday (7/5/2021) and saw that GOOGLE had this place as permanently closed!! What the heck? It is NOT closed at all! In fact, it's doing amazing and keeps getting voted as a finalist in The Austin Chronicle's Best of Austin Awards for Best Florist. It is NOT closed at all! Because of the pandemic, Mercedes has ditched the brick and mortar location and is doing really, really outstanding with online and phone orders! Mercedes is so responsive and incredibly helpful! II ordered a stunning arrangement for my parents' 57th wedding anniversary over the July 4th weekend. Mercedes hit it out of the park with a gorgeous bouquet that pleased my parents so much! The address on Google is not correct, but the business is definitely going strong. When I asked Mercedes about the address location, she told me she has tried numerous times to get it fixed on Google but with no luck. So, don't go looking for Mercedes Flower shop on Goodrich Ave. She's virtual, she's in business, and she is extremely responsive and creates amazing arrangements. Google, please get it right. These small businesses cannot afford for you to deem them "permanently...
