Spa Viata is a decent little spa. Itās a little small for my liking compared to other places Iāve been. Still a good experience since we went on a slow day but my review will probably sound more harsh than positive.
The lounge area:
-the facility was of great quality and a relaxing design -lounge chairs are a little too close for my comfort -the āsnacksā were loose granola and a dried fruit. Iām judging you harshly Austin. -there are two treatment rooms in the area and if the people are chatty you donāt get to relax much since you can hear them
Amenities:
-The sauna on the menās side worked just fine and was enjoyable.
A side note: Can old men please explain the allure of being naked and not using a towel in the sauna? Gross.
-the men side steam room was too hot, and the steam room is my favorite part of a spa experience and will usually stay in them for a long time. I couldnāt handle more than 3 mins because breathing the extremely hot steam hurt. Plus it was small with one tiny bench and two small individual chairs. I usually like to lie down in a stream room but you couldnāt do that here. I also wished it was a eucalyptus steam room like all others Iāve been to. -Towels were limited and kept running out all day and I had to tell employees they were out. -My wife said the sauna for women wasnāt working well and didnāt really get hot. I canāt speak more to that. She says she followed instructions to get it hot but that it never got above 120 degrees. Itās possible she didnāt do something right though. Not sure. -there isnāt a separate spa pool but you have access to the hotel pool down the hall. Not a big deal but you have to find a staff member to let you back into the spa after because only they have a key to open the door. This became very annoying when going from spa to the pool multiple times. Why canāt you give spa gets a key and if they donāt turn it back in you charge them like $200 to encourage the return?
Service:
-My wife really enjoyed being with Seda for a couple of services and would recommend booking appointments with her if you go. -Spa staff were very friendly and responsive to questions
Booking experience:
-When I booked a service over the phone I wasnāt informed that a 20% gratuity charge would be automatically added. While we want to tip, I donāt appreciate not knowing about it ahead of time. Personally I think 20% is too much for this because I donāt think they are getting paid a couple bucks an hour like waiter/waitresses do but thatās just a personal opinion. So be aware of that. -I found out that if you book online they tell you this in the fine print and they show a price that includes the amount but they donāt break it out and explain why it was costing $228 when the service price is $190. You need to break it into its own line item when reserving online so it is clear.
Like I said, sounded very critical but that was our experience. Believe it or not, we still had a good time. The Black Friday deal for the hotel and spa made it worth it for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a wonderful spa day at Spa Viata. The front staff was amazing with scheduling, booking, and explaining everything.
Hilary (massage therapist) and Seda (aesthetician) were both personable and amazing in pampering me. Each took their time with my massage and facial. I felt relaxed and well taken care of through each session. At the end of each I was given a warm hand off to the next booking or flow in the process. They were attentive to my needs and checked up on me even after my spa day was done. I canāt wait to go back and definitely will be booking with them again! The food and cocktail served was delicious! My face was glowing, my body was relaxed and even into the next day I was feeling very zen š§š¼āāļø
I have worked with Hilary before as a massage therapist and it was a happy surprise to be scheduled with her and learn she was there. Made the day even more special to know I was in good hands.
The only drawback is they donāt have key faub to give spa guests for the locker room, which is fine if you have a therapist escorting you to and from but if you do a spa suite or enjoy the other amenities that can present a challenge in getting back into the locker. Given the prices, I would definitely suggest that being prioritized to make the experience seamless.
