Long review-I'm writing this review based on the care my dad received at this hospital around 9/27/21. I drove my dad to the ER because he had low oxygen and was Covid positive. At this point Covid was hitting hospitals like crazy so most rooms were taken, however they rushed my dad back to room one, a room they JUST finished sanitizing and immediately got him onto oxygen, got a CT scan, and got him IV fluids. The number of doctors and nurses that came in and out to check on him was crazy. From day 1 to day 14/15 they were amazing with their care. They always kept me up to date on what was happening. The nurses were so nice and helpful, I know my dad did not have the most patience, but they worked really well with him, and he had no complaints (besides for the food), but they did let us bring him food from outside the hospital. He ended up having to be ventilated and 24 hours later let us know that it was probably time to say goodbye. They let loved ones come up to the hospital to sit and say goodbye to him-however not just a couple loved ones, they let 50+ people in and out of his room for us throughout the day. I couldn't believe they let us do that for everyone. Unfortunately, on Oct 9th, 2021, around 8pm my dad ended up passing away. I am beyond thankful for this hospital for doing all they could for him. Although it's hard for me to come here, I still do not go to any other ER. Thank you, Avon...
Read moreIâve currently been at the Avon Richard E. Jacobâs Health Centerâs Emergency Room Department since 2:00p itâs currently 10:45p and all theyâve done for my dad who came in struggling with heart pain and chest pressure also with extreme pain in his lower extremities is take blood, a ECG at triage and took him out of the waiting room to do x-rays and then brought him right back to the waiting room! We have been siting in this waiting room for over 8 hours with no test results, no one checking in on his chest pains and when my family or any of these other families waiting for help ask about how much longer themselves or their loved ones have to wait to be seen the nurses and receptionist just say (with a heightened volume and annoyance to their voice is⊠âyouâre on the listâ and that âwe donât know wait timesâ
8+ hours to wait to be seen and left in a waiting room when you came in with heart an chest pain is unexplainable for my father and the countless others that are in pain and just wanted some preview of when theyâll be able to be seen and have some relief!
Do better Cleveland Clinic and have your front line crew members show a little more empathy for people that have spent the equivalent to a full workday waiting in a lobby to get relief for their ailments.
Also at the time of writing this we still have yet to be seen and are about to...
Read moreWe sat in the waiting area for 4 hours with my 3yo who's sliced hand was held in a bloody washcloth the entire time. The people we met seemed very nice, but he was never treated. It's incredibly cruel to make a child and caregiver sit for hours to the point that he, at 3 years old, is tired, hungry, and soiled himself.
Just tell me if you don't have the staff to help, or an idea of your wait time. If you can't help, then say so. Do not make my child suffer for hours until we decide to give up and leave. You asked for consent to treat, and offered no treatment. We were worse off after waiting 4 hours in your ER than when we arrived. His wound wasn't even cleaned. He was offered nothing, given nothing but a cartoon sticker and kind words. The longer this day is, the more upset I become.
If your wait time is at least an hour for every year you've been alive, then I feel truly sorry for the kind woman cancer patient with pneumonia who had been there hours longer than us when we arrived and still there when we left. Fix the administration,...
