Munson's Chocolates — Local services in Avon

This store -- itself -- is fine. I am leaving this 3-star review for corporate.

The customers love the chocolate.

Regarding their fundraiser and associated policies:

We just did a very successful fundraiser, $3500.00+ which paid for a number of gifts to the school. A couple of caveats: (a) you will have to sort, filter, and bag your own orders, consider this "the last mile distribution." This can get tricky, especially when you have a successful fundraiser. Items may get misplaced and you may end up with extra items and/or missing items. (b) they have a no refunds policy. We had to repurchase items -- at cost -- that were misplaced and conversely are stuck with a few items that didn't get distributed.

I understand that sorting all of the orders is rather expensive, however I do find it off putting that given the size of the fundraising and knowing that discrepancies will occur from the human error during the most complex sorting and distribution, the lack of giving refunds seems so....impersonal.

Edit: I just got off the phone with the VP from corporate. He went over the no-refunds policy and it was nice to felt heard. I told him that I am sticking with the 3-start review, but that I would reword my critique. At the end of the day, the fundraiser was successful. The product is quality.

The missing two stars is because of the clunky hand off of the fundraising items and (in the age of Amazon ) low-quality...

I love Munson’s and my favorite has always been the almond toffee milk chocolate patty because it had big chunks of toffee and whole almonds. I’m disappointed that they changed it to tiny bits of toffee and chopped up almonds. Bummer! I even asked the clerk about the difference in look and she said something about sometimes there’s little pieces.
