BurgerFi — Restaurant in Simsbury

I've been to a BurgerFi before but this is my first visit to the Avon location. I walked into this location around 1:00pm. It was relatively quiet, a few patrons were seated and eating, and a few others were waiting on their food. One person was taking orders and one person was at the grill (one person walked away and I assume it was for their break). I walked up and placed my order, I specifically said "the BurgerFi burger, lettuce, tomato" (minus the cheese) and "regular fries". I received my receipt and sat down for my take out to arrive. I'm usually a patient person but I started to feel like I was there for a long time. I looked at the time on my phone and it said 1:23pm. I then took a look at my receipt and the time stamp on it was 1:03pm. 20 minutes and still no order...I also noticed that I was getting a BurgerFi Cheeseburger even though I wanted the non cheese burger, no big deal though, a common mistake. As I said, I'm a patient person so I waited longer. In that time period, I believe 2 orders were fulfilled. Two workers returned to the grill for a total of three working the grill now. To keep the story short, I'll jump ahead to when I receive my order...it was brought out to me just before 1:30pm. About 30 minutes from the time I walked in to the time I walked out. This may seem extreme for some people but I believe that this was a very slow experience when trying to pick up a quick bite for lunch. I normally don't write reviews, but what forced me to write one is the fact that when I opened up the burger, there was no lettuce or tomato on it. The combination of issues has made me a bit unhappy with my visit. There is a small chance that I'll visit BurgerFi again, but likely not the one in Avon. I'll likely go to Five...

My first experience with Burger-Fi was actually at their Bethesda MD location in late 2019 while I was in the area on a business trip. Their burgers were so good that I made it a point to eat there again when I was finally back in the area again in June 2023. Once again, their burgers and sides were just outstanding. So I was very happy to learn that a Burger-Fi opened in Avon CT, about half an hour from my house.

My first visit to their Avon location did not disappoint. Their high quality beef makes their burgers something to remember. The CEO burger in Avon is just as good as the CEO burger in Bethesda. The Swag burger is delicious if your looking for something with a bit of spice.

The fries here have a robust taste that will put most fast food chain restaurant fries to shame, especially if you add one of their gourmet sauces. I recommend the garlic aioli. The onion rings are outstanding too.

Eating at Burger-Fi is not cheap, when compared to other burger restaurants. Expect a bill similar most upscale pizza joints or delis. You are paying for quality though. Ordered a chicken breast burger, went into my car to eat it and when l took a bite it was pink, personally to pink for me. I went inside to say I’ll pay for the drink but can I just get the chicken breast taken off. The manager who should not be one after how he treated me and made a scene infront of other customers. Said “it’s pre cooked it can’t be” I explained I understand but it was too pink for me and I do not want this. He goes to say what type of chicken and yells at me from across the kitchen into the main area. I explain to him that as someone who works in the kitchen and has been in the restaurant industry for 2 years this is not ok, that this is pink I do not want it (I took 2 bites one from each side to make sure). I was in utter shock. And extremely embarrassed. I actually deicded to walk out and not get my refund because I could tell this man would make this a bigger scene. Will not be returning and I really hope the people who heard the conversation won’t either. I would like my purchased voided if not already.
