Loving these 1-star "reviews". Y'all are a bunch of greasy neck beards demanding older yet still mint cards. EDH continues to grow in popularity, of course its harder to find cards. Everyone has this problem. You can't be bothered to shower and put on deodorant but can DEMAND pristine cards. Wild.
I've been around the TCG scene since a teen. I've floated between all of the major ones, and news flash ALL of them are toxic. PoD hosts gamers, ie you'll run into that crowd. But that's gonna happen no matter which LGS you hit. PoD staff accepted me with open arms and took that extra time to get me started when I went in for my first bunch of cards. I wasn't rushed and they helped me beyond just making a sale, in fact they made less money off of me that day because they helped me make smarter choices.
Since then, I have hit plenty of other stores on the valley and across state lines. Not a single one had the selection of MTG cards or accessories, and when it came to double masters they were the ONLY store not price gouging. When I dropped a list off l, they've only ever failed to have a card once, and I've requested a few hundred at this point. If I ever felt undervalued on my trade-ins I told them and they were upfront on that. They flipped their screen around and actually showed me the median price on TCGplayer then detailed their valuation. It's WILD what actually talking to someone can do right? Instead of running online and hiding behind your anonymous 1-star reviews?
Regardless, after touring plenty of other stores and finding each and everyone either unable to fulfill most of my card orders or price gouging, I gave up. PoD is pretty much the place to go if you want consistent product, reliable pricing and knowledgeable staff. They answer any question I pose to them and don't beat...
Read moreAbout 2 years ago, I left a very poor review, based off of an isolated experience I had when the ownership was different. They seemed to be at odds with each other at the time, and it reflected in their customer service.
I'd like to amend that review and say that they have made leaps and bounds in the quality of the experience in the store. The new staff is incredibly friendly and (what I believe to be) the owner is no longer burdened by the negative energy that was so heavy in the place before when the lanky, long-haired guy was back there.
Finger pointing aside, I've been back several times, and I'm actually happy instead of anxious waiting for them to pull my cards and chatting with them on occasion. When you're waiting, they're always quick to ask if there's anything else you're looking for or if you've been helped. The focus on fixing what was wrong before has been noticed and I would say has been a massive success.
I'm glad I gave the shop another chance and I'll be happy to continue shopping here....
Read moreMe & my bf thought it would be cool to check this place out. We didn't know what to expect since we didn't look it up online, just thought we would take a look. We are huge collectors of Pops, comics, movies, books, video games etc. & The one store we really enjoyed closed down unfortunately. So when we walked in we were super surprised because it wasn't anything we we're familiar with at all (from what we saw). The tables where people were playing cards, was completely full. Pretty much everyone went quiet when we came in, & looked at us. No one said anything (including the people working there). We looked around for a couple minutes but felt uncomfortable & decided to leave. I'm not upset that they didn't have anything we usually buy, because thats not their fault. It just felt awkward. I would have liked to ask some questions but I'm a pretty introverted person & the fact that no one said anything & everyone at the tables gave me uncomfortable looks, definitely just made us want to go. Not the...
