This was the worst food I had ever had at a Golden Corral. We were late for supper, so we chose GC as food would be ready to eat. About 7:50 pm when we arrived, open until 9:30. I have 2 "go-to's" at GC - fish & chips and pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy. I got one piece of fish, that was all that was there, it never got refilled. The chips must have been there for hours, barely warm and limp...awful. The pot roast was uneatable. See the photo, what was there were large chunks of hard dried up roast. A plastic spoon to try to dig into it wasn't happening. I tried but it was too hard to try to get any chunk off with it. Thought I would have some BBQ ribs, they were so overcooked and dry that I ate one and threw others away. When we arrived, I noticed that the carved ham was down to crumbs, literally. Went back to get some and it turned into sausages. Took a piece of sausage, barely luke warm, yuk. Oh, started with a chicken noodle soup, it was barely warm and watered down. Gave up and went for dessert. One piece of brownie left, all dried up. Got 1 nice piece of cake and some pudding, these were the highlights of the meal. Oh, and it was a Friday so we paid extra. I asked what they added to the buffet for the extra charge and was told they just charge extra on the weekend. The water glasses at the table got refilled but the paid soft drinks did not. We drove 1/2 hour to get here, we were really hoping to find a new GC we liked as our local one closed due to Covid. The only one I have found that was good is about an hour drive ☹️. Might have to just give up on my "favorite"...
Read moreIt was 5pm on a Monday. It seemed everyone came to use the coupons on the expiration date. Much too crowded!! I noticed more tables than my last visit. With so many high chairs in the Isles there was no clear path to the buffet. A lot of crying and screaming. Much of the food was left from lunch so the fried chicken was extremely dry and tough. The rolls were cold and a bit stale. I did enjoy the mac-n-cheese and broccoli with extra cheese sauce. I paid for a hot tea with lemon. I got some lukewarm water with a tea bag already in it and that's all. There was no lemon, no cream, no sugar, and no spoon. The "server" never brought those items to me but rather vaguely told me where to find them myself. I was a bit put off when I noticed that she gave other patrons who ordered coffee some cream, sugar, and...Spoons. I am not a fan of cold food or bread; so basically, I paid $14.99 plus $3 for a dinner of basically broccoli, mac-n-cheese, and soft serve. There were at least 2 people coughing at tables. That was about the time they started to put out fresh food but was not going to stay around to risk exposure. That was the second place I visited where at least one person was coughing their head off. I think it's time to go back to limited seating and shields. I still believe anyone shorter than the sneeze shield should not be at the buffet. Also, there should be a procedure to get your money refunded when you come in and either there is nothing you like or you just feel uncomfortable with the amount of...
Read moreDuring our visit to this location on 05/18/25, we witnessed several pretty severe health code violations. It occured at about 7:30 pm. The staff was behind the counter using heavy chemicals to vigorously mop for the entirety of our visit. It was clear they were using chemicals as the large pond of water was a purpleish haze, maybe more of a blueish. The food was in the open, as is most food at a buffet. The employee proceeded to touch the tongs of the food with the same gloves she was using to oh so vigorously mop with. With doing that she also touched the food that was located under the tongs and left it in the bowl for the restaurant full of patrons and kids to eat.
We left after seeing this and cannot recommend anyone go here. Please do yourself and your family a favour and eat somewhere else. This was a $70 mistake and that's on us. Steer clear of this location. To add insult to injury, we didn't receive drinks until 15-20 minutes after we sat down at the table.
After we left and sat in the parking lot, you could see the employee behind the fruit section at the buffet still vigorously mopping behind the counter while new customers entered the establishment.
