I'm always down to try out a new place and if you add local and family owned to it even better. I'd never heard of the Country Griddle until today and after reading a few things I realize it's only been open about a month. Word of mouth is obviously spreading quickly because it was packed around 11am today and more and more people coming as we were seated. We lucked out and got there right before the afternoon rush and we're seated right away. The location is part of a strip mall and parking was a bit tricky, but we parked over by the Sketchers Outlet and just walked over. The inside is quite small, but holds about 4-5 booths and 6-7 tables with no outdoor seating. Today being a weekend be expected to wait. They offer both breakfast and lunch daily. The menu offers some great items including three types of Eggs Benedict , banana pancakes, chilaquiles and eggs or Hawaiian Portuguese Sausage . If you’re low carb, or just want something lighter they offer salads and/or a veggie sandwich. Service was great and even with the constant rush of new customers adding to the wait list they kept up and people were seated, tables cleaned up and our drinks constantly filled the entire time. Prices are a little high, but that is the norm now with the economy. Portions were great size and I left full. My California Benedict could’ve used a bit more sauce, but the English muffin was perfectly toasted, bacon crisp, avocado fresh and egg poached well. My daughter loved her biscuits and gravy and my husband and I agreed that the country potatoes were the best we’d had. I typically loath country potatoes because they are soggy, not seasoned well and/or soggy every where we go. The country potatoes at Country Griddle were crispy and seasoned well. I’d eat them again. If you aren’t a fan they also offer a side of fruit in its place. I didn’t get any photos inside because it was very busy and I didn’t want to blast peoples faces while enjoying their meal. Location was clean and great lighting with...
Read moreI LOVE breakfast places and diners! Country Griddle is the type of place I really wanted to be amazing and delicious. For the most part it was exactly what I was looking for.
C.G. is in a small strip mall and has seating for around 50 people. We (party of 4) got there around 8:30 and by 8:45 it was packed with a wait. Our waitress Olivia was outstanding and patient as we tried to pour through the pretty diverse menu. She kept my coffee full, all while serving with only two other servers.
We ordered an omelette (which had a great response), avocado toast (“it was good, avocado was fresh and it made a full meal), vegetable scramble (this was mine and was exactly what I wanted) and French toast. I also REALLY enjoyed my coffee and the size of the mug in came in. Not sure what the roast was but it was really good!
The French Toast was the biggest miss for our table. It seemed while all of the other “exotic” orders were great, the most plain order was the most disappointing. The eggs were cold and had a slice of cheese on top and the toast itself was nothing special in taste or appearance. In full transparency I also have to say the biscuit I got was doughy and had no real taste at all which I think would be disappointing if I got biscuits and gravy.
At the End of the Day I will absolutely go back to the Country Griddle as my meal was fantastic but I would be remiss if I didn’t warn readers to stay away from the simple. The prices are quite high with every meal being $10+ but the portions were fair and like I said I got everything I wanted from my...
Read moreThere's a reason for only One Star! Let me start by talking about food. FOOD: Food was delicious. We ordered a Denver omelette, Country Fried Steak and Chillachilles. All was very good and tasty. I give them 4.5 Star for food!
Now let's talk about service. Our waitress was very friendly. She checked on us. Came fast to get our drinks and food order. She even recommended some for us to try because this was our first time there. That part was good!
When it came to checking out, she brought our bill and said to take our time. For five people the bill came to $86. Pretty good! Handed her our credit card to pay! Another guy came to our table to drop the receipt for my husband to sign. THE RECEIPT THEN CAME BACK WITH $142. My husband always checks the bill. Always! So we caught the mistake. At least that's what she called it. That she made a mistake and added another table to our bill. But she only added food but not their drinks too. So I know it’s not a mistake. After she rang us up already, she claimed to accidentally adding another table to our bill!
No!! That's not what that is. They tried to cheat us and thought we were not gonna pay attention! So PLEASE, if you're going to eat there, look at your bill. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL!! If it was a mistake, it's a big mistake to double the amount of total to anyone's bill. PAY ATTENTION! With this experience, we won't be back! Dishonesty...
