Upper Cut — Local services in Bakersfield

I think I probably had the worst experience here than any other place in my life. First of all these ladies (maria and Carmen) did not greet me as I walked in. I had never been there before. The ladies looked like they didn't want to be there, they were not nice or talkative or the least bit interested in their paying customers. I showed Carmen a picture of what I wanted and she said she was just going to trim the layers I already had instead of what I wanted. I honestly didn't want any issues with her so I just said okay. I have very curly hair and she did not know how to work with curly hair. She continued to brush my hair from top to bottom and anyone who has worked with curly hair knows that that is the worst thing you could do. And then at the end, she completely forgot that I wanted bangs. I had to remind her and I completely regret it. I got straight across bangs and she cut so much of my hair into bangs and they are ruined and short and now they look like they belong to a shaggy dog. I'm beyond pist and dissatisfied. Its going to take me months to grow this hair out again and to even get it to a normal look. She did decent on my hair itself but I would never recommend her for a bang cut. And I wouldn't recommend this place if youre looking for a friendly inviting...

I love this place. Maria gets our family’s haircut cut perfect every time!

No matter what hair style or hair color you ask of her, she will get it right.

Her daughter also cuts hair very well.

Maria is an honest business owner and the price for her haircuts are just and fair.

I like that I can come in and I don’t have to listen to screeching music that bleeds my ears like at other salons.

I can walk in and relax.

Kids love this place too, because every time they walk out of this place there is a bowl of candy waiting for them!

However, the salon does need a little re-touch and update.

But even though the equipment is a little rugged and outdated, I still recommend this place because Maria and her staff have the professional skills that can over look the equipment’s usage.

I completely recommend this place to family...

I took my son the woman there didn't ask what I need so I ask if son could get a haircut so she said ok, she was doing a lady's hair when she finished she sweep the floor and use the BROOM to get the hair off the chair she didn't wipe down the chair and told my son to sit there she took his mask off and throw it on her table I was in shock couldn't even say nothing and my son really need it a haircut, when she finished told him to get up the hair was uneven and his face was cover with hair she couldn't even wipe his face as other professionals do, I ask for a tissue or something and she told him LOOK AT ME and use the blow dryer in his face just very unprofessional people working there and not...
