Shout out to Push 511‘s amazing coaching staff and why I love CrossFit. I couldn’t be more thankful for the personal training and support from Shannon and Andy over the last 8 months. Thanks to their great coaching skills to improve my strength, endurance and overall stamina, I recently enjoyed a two-week vacation in Europe. I was able to keep up with the daily walking tours of castles, churches and vineyards; rowed a belle batele (voga) boat through the canals of Venice and so much more. At age 67 I returned to PUSH511 after about a 5year break, compounded by the pandemic. My primary goal was to improve my health and return to an active lifestyle as compared to the couch potato I had become. Shannon and Andy helped me achieve that goal and much more. Throughout our Personal Training sessions, Shannon and Andy have worked around all my age-related aches and pains to create workouts that push me beyond my limits and keep me coming back for more. The workouts are so much more challenging and diverse than doing a routine circuit training at a regular gym. Shannon and I discussed hitting a 225# deadlift. Well, that goal is in the history books, my 1 rep max dead lift is now 235# (new goal 250#). It’s a long road ahead to get back where I was 5 years ago, but with the excellent support available at PUSH511 my only obstacle is me. Having been to several CrossFit gyms over the years, I can confidently say that Ardyth and her team of coaches have cultivated something truly special. They’ve built an incredible community that welcomes all ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds, making everyone feel like they belong from day one.
Every coach brings knowledge, experience, and genuine care, ensuring that we train safely while still pushing our limits and they make it fun, too! I especially appreciate the ambassador program, which helps new members integrate seamlessly into the community. The gym offers great class times (even for my crazy schedule!), and the camaraderie here is something I can only compare to my 20 years of military service; a true team, always supporting each other.
A huge shoutout to Coach Andy, who trains my 12-year-old daughter. She walks out of every session with a smile on her face, excited to come back. Seeing that level of positivity and confidence grow in her has been amazing. I am truly thankful for that!

Read moreIn the last 5-ish years since I started doing Crossfit (on and off), PUSH 511 has been by far the best box I have been a member of. I was initially hesitant to join (with excuses ranging from finances to time commitment), but it may have been the best decision I made in 2018! Who knew I would end the year going 4-5x/week and looking forward to work outs?! The coaches are super knowledgeable - really great at meeting you where you are in your athletic abilities while also making sure they push you. They do a great job of coaching through movements, warming up, and helping with modifying any movements if needed. Beyond the coaches, I love the PUSH community! Everyone is extremely welcoming to new faces and they are always a great source of encouragement during the WODs (and in life). They want you to be your best self! Not only have I seen a lot of progress in my strength/ endurance/ gymnastic skills in the past 3-4 months since joining, but I have made some great friendships.
