The reason I am giving this place a 1-star review is because of my overall experience. While others might have a better experience, mine was deeply upsetting. A staff member (I won’t name them because I don’t want to impact their work experience) said something to me that left a lasting negative impression.
To start, the staff member informed me that I was “causing concern to many people around you, and it’s making everyone uncomfortable.” This statement shocked and hurt me. I’m an independent individual who has been in a very lonely state due to my traumatic background. I’ve been trying to find comforting places to simply exist, and since I recently turned 21, I’ve been exploring new environments.
The worker went on to say: “I’m not sure how to handle it at this point. I have to work, so I can’t be worrying about everything that’s going on on the other side of the bar. But when I hear stories, it’s concerning.”
Hearing this was horrifying and deeply upsetting. Due to my traumatic background, I’ve already been in a fragile emotional state, and as an independent individual, I was just trying to find a safe and comforting space. Unfortunately, it seems my presence caused stress for the worker, leading them to not want me at the bar anymore.
The staff member later said: “I would prefer if you wouldn’t come when I’m working.”
This made me feel completely unwelcome. I didn’t mean to cause any discomfort, but this experience has left me feeling even more fearful and scared to be around others. It has worsened my sense of loneliness and isolation, leaving me afraid to connect with people or visit places where I might not be wanted
And if I did go to Knotty Pine, only coming inside "when she's not working," my overall experience will now be changed, and it will affect other hangout spots I go to in the future. I now feel the need to put myself in a farther space and avoid contact with others. And feel extremely fear and feel at least normal like anyone should Thanks again for making me feel this way.
I'm sorry my existence causesworrying people or making them...
Read moreOne of my top 5 most disappointing dining 'experiences.' Attempted to grab a bite to eat before my nieces first day of school. Service started with a poor attitude female bartender, getting the vibe she doesn't bode well with female clientele. We ended up leaving before even getting our food. Left some cash for the two items actually served to us. We waited over an hour for the rest and never came, only to find out the order was not put in, at all. Service offered to pay for the app (the one item we got and cheapest on bill), still willing to wait it out for the rest considering we were all very hungry by then... Still didn't come 20 minutes later. The crazy thing is the service did not seem at all to think a thing of this scenario unfolding. Seems like the typical hole in the wall Baltimore bar where everyone has abuse problems and doesn't actually care about the establishment. Seems the main concern was getting customers drunk, as not one customer around us got low on alcohol but somehow our entire order was forgotten. We watched the male 'server' drink with his tables/ take shots, drop menus, his receipts from the check books, ect....
Read moreThe Knotty Pine is an upscale Baltimore corner bar with an intimate feel. Try the smash burgers while you’re here, you won’t be disappointed. The service here is top-notch!
I ordered the bacon and bleu cheese burger with extra bleu cheese. This was the most flavorful, juicy burger I have ordered in a very long time. I could have easily consumed two more!
My friend ordered the flatbread pizza. Keep in mind this is a pizza crafted with unleavened dough. You’re essentially eating your pizza on a giant flour tortilla shell. Consequently, the “pizza” had hard, crunchy edges. While it worked as bar food, it more closely resembles an open-faced quesadilla than it does a pizza.
Meanwhile, my other friend devoured his burrito bowl. He remarked upon the bowl’s beautiful presentation.
Not much thought went into interior lighting here. I found it harsh and glaring. Otherwise, if you want a cold beer, accompanied by great food and service, this is the...
